    What kind of pleco?

Minnows aren't really something I'm too interested in. Maybe for bug patrol in the pond so if I grow out the goldies in the tank for a year or two and start moving then it might be worthwhile.

    What kind of pleco?

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll stick with goldfish only, I wanted a pleco for practical purposes and very different type of fish physically. But don't want one killing my goldies.

    What kind of pleco?

What about other kinds of bigish plecos? Only one I've ever kept was bristlenose and a green spot. Or any other fish that could live with goldies that would be okay in a pond in summer?

    What kind of pleco?

Hey all I'm in the process of planning my pond out. It's still a year or two away from being dug but I've thought about other plans. Being in a northern climate pond season isn't terribly long realistically 5-6 months. I also wasn't thrilled with the idea of powering pumps or a heater all...

Help! No power and it's cold!

Hand/foot warmers from any outdoors store will give you the most heat vs just warm water and last longest. Just have to ensure the bag is water tight. Also works for your herps too, just bag it.

    What size tank?

Thanks, I haven't heard about that issue before. I wasn't planning on a deeper then 24" tank, make maintenance and lighting more difficult. Standing 6ft I didn't want to have to stand on a step stool to reach the bottom of the tank. I was hoping to find a 4-5ft long and deep vs high to increase...

    What size tank?

75g is my minimum as I've seen 4ft 75g I was curious what else came in a 5ft length. I know with aquariums they tend to get long and high more then deep. I know the 20+10 math you say which I take no offense you mentioning. I was thinking 4ft was the max then I rethought my basement layout and...

    Is it safe?

    What size tank?

Hey everyone, been awhile since I posted anything fish related. I'm planning on building a pond in a year or two but wasn't thrilled with the idea of keeping it from freezing in the winter with pumps or heaters and generally not being able to watch the fish most of the year. I also wanted...

    Is it safe?

It's about 2ft wide so no turkey is that big but the mold is in a certain area on the top. It grew mold because it was summer, fresh substrate change which was soaked compressed cocohusk bricks. I grew white mold on the substrate and green mold on the wood. I cleaned everything that had no mold...

    Is it safe?

It was bought from big als, they screwed it into a slate rock for weight. It's too big to fit in a boiling pot of water. It was in a ball python cage he crawled on it a bit but that's it.

    Is it safe?

So I have a terrarium piece of wood on rock. After a appearance of mold due to high humidity I removed it and bagged it. It's been sitting in a bag for the past year. While I didn't serve a great functional terrarium piece I'm in the process of planning a decent size goldie tank and it would...

    Reptiles Photos Only!

My California Kingsnake, no name yet. Bought her 2 weeks ago so these pics were taken just before I set up her cage. She if very calm to handle, despite all the stress of being moved, probed, picked up etc her only response was to curl around my arm. I'm waiting until she takes her second meal...

    Can anyone explain?

I see bulbs rated in kelvin but my knowledge of Kelvin is in measurable temperature on the Fahrenheit scale as Rankine is to Celsius. I don't understand how the same term can be used for colour temperature and physical temperature. To me 0 Kelvin is -460F I don't get the colour temperature.

    My humble pet room

Time to update with the new addition. There was a delay in adding the snake as I tore it apart to put a drainage layer of hydroballs and replanted it. Snapped a few pics of cage as it sits now and the new addition to the room. Meet CriKee an Indonesian vine snake. Used the shade from my hand...

    What's a minimum size?

I'll look for a used 75g tank, I'd rather have the expanded options fish wise considering if I do buy one it will be for sure a mbuna tank no question. I tried planted in a 35g and failed miserably. My planted 10g looks pretty good though, the only tank I can keep everything green. I've always...

    What's a minimum size?

I think 75 might be 20inches maybe a bit taller then a 55. A few inches taller isn't an issue. I think I've seen a picture of a 5ft 120 or might have been 4 it was 30 tall which makes cleaning bit harder. I'm open to adding catfish to. An 18 deep tank is fine. Update: I checked the space, a...

    What's a minimum size?

I am open to going bigger then a 55 but a 125 is to big for my place. A 75 or other 4ft long tanks that are taller is also acceptable. Space wise a 4ft is my comfortable limit in terms of floor space and getting it in the house. Re-homing would be a bit of an issue due to work etc. Having fry...
