    What Are You Listening To?

Literally clock ticking was the only sound. No snoring, frogs were quiet. Just the clock. Thank you for sharing this. Sweet! :)

Thanks. 3-6 months I’ll know if I get to use my right hand. Physical therapists say I’m doing very well. It’s always a bad dream. Fell again this morning. Thankfully just bruises on my leg. Had my cast on! Thank you too. Well wishes always welcome!

Thanks. I needed that. Two feral cats. One a bully. I put my hand between them to stop him. He bit my hand. I pulled my hand away, he bit my arm. (He’s big guy). Pulled my arm up which gave him access to the other side of my arm. Sank fangs to bone, gouged grooves, sank fangs, gouged grooves...

    Golden Wcmm In A Pond?

I’ve got them in my pond. It’s 4’ at the deepest. I also use a floating deicer in the winter. It’s not as cold here of course but I’m betting they’d survive if it’s deep enough.

I desperately needed this! Been off and on for couple weeks now. Not a lot though. Seems I sometimes miss Siri’s telling me which category I’m in and reply when I shouldn’t. So I’m trying to stick to threads like this. Getting too involved gets me in trouble. Thank you for the welcome back...

    How To Kill A Fish?

The way I use clove oil: I put the fish in a container just big enough for it to move around in. Not swim, but be able to turn around. Filled with tank water. Once it’s accepted it’s small container, I put in 1 drop of clove oil. Wait 5 minutes, if fish not asleep, 1 drop. Usually by the 2nd...

Captive Aquatic Animals For Human Entertainment

The last report I’ve heard is there’s no evidence of improvements being made at Honey’s park. So unforgivably sad. Edit to add info. According to Wild Welfare the following animals have been relocated and are receiving vet care: 2 bears, 1 tiger, 4 baboons, 9 fallow deer and 1 turtle. They will...

    Sick Betta

My water change schedule is every 4 days. That seems extreme but my health doesn’t allow for my being able to count on doing them on schedule. So if one time I can’t do them, a day or two won’t hurt. Once a week is generally the rule. I’ve now got five beautiful bettas. My black orchid crowntail...

    Popeye In Female Half-moon?

I’m loving the sound of this tank! Awesomeness! Do you think it’s really getting bigger. It doesn’t sound like it’s got the typical color changes of popeye. I’ll see if @AJE will look at her eye for me.

    Sick Or Injured?

This is a sad situation. There’s so much you need to do here. If you’re adding them to a ten gallon qt is it a cycled tank? You’re going to need a liquid test kit. Testing for ammonia/nitrites very important. A heater is also needed. You can’t put them in a bucket outside to warm them up. It...

    Sick Betta

Vac sounds cool! How much water are you removing each time? Try to limit it to 25-30% unless there’s an urgent need to replace all of it. Rare but does happen. Your parameters look ok to hubby. Keeping up with partial water changes should take care of your nitrates. Is he happy?

Had hubby look. Do you have something near the top of the water line (about 2” down from waterline) for him to rest on? The rest sounds beautiful! I’m sorry the tv stand didn’t work out. Would’ve been cute to have live tv 24/7!

Help Septicemia, Injury, Or Something Else??

I’m sorry but circling doesn’t help with me. Blindness gets in the way sometimes. Ok. Plants. My take (because I’ve not had luck with aquarium plants, pond plants oh yeah). Once you get your plants thriving in the substrate, you just gently vac the surface yuck up. You won’t have to move your...

Help Betta Fin Rot Or Fin Loss?

While you’re using triple sulfa follow the directions. Otherwise do 25-30% as often as needed to keep the parameters perfect. I do my water changes every 4 days for my bettas. Mainly so if I’m too weak to do it on the 4th day it’s ok to wait up to two days. But my babies seem to do better on the...

Help Betta Fin Rot Or Fin Loss?

Salt bath for most bettas: start with 2 teaspoons/gallon of treated temp matched water. 5 minutes and watch for signs of stress. If the fin rot isn’t too bad, doing this twice a day should help. If the salt baths don’t help, antibiotics are your next step. But. First make sure your water is as...

    He Has Fish Tb

Oh I know. I was just mentioning that using salt to sterilize an aquarium after myco is looking promising. That’s why I asked you earlier to watch his slime coat. You’re doing what she advised and I’m thinking that’s best. A vet in hand is better than someone who can’t even see their hand.
  36. Gypsy13

    He Has Fish Tb

And sadly you won’t know if it’s tb until the necropsy. And there are studies showing high salt concentrations kill myco. I’d certainly listen to a vet on the scene before anyone else. I’m still hoping he’ll be ok for you.
  37. Gypsy13

    He Has Fish Tb

Just remember salt doesn’t evaporate. So if you dose the tank then when you do a water change, there’s still salt in the water. So you can’t just keep adding enough salt for the tank. I add salt to my replacement water every other water change. And watch closely as you work up to 3tbs. A lot of...

    Help Ember Tetra Looks Sick

My two cents since you’ve got him in qt, try the general cure. The problem I’m having is every moment that goes by the fish is getting worse. If it’s “wasting disease” then the general cure will help. If it’s half a dozen other problems that mimic wasting disease, General cure will help.

Help Septicemia, Injury, Or Something Else??

I love long posts. Thank you! Ok. It seems this goes back to the moving of the rocks. You mentioned you don’t always vac your substrate. You should. Saltwater Tank - Forgot Conditioner!

You added the conditioner once you realized it right? The shock will depend on how much water you removed and replaced. They should be ok. Think positive and we all do something “duh” like occasionally.
