    Where To Buy

Petsmart online has the Marineland 75 gallon ensemble going for $249.00. That's tank, canopy, stand and led. Super cheap. If it's not on sale in the store, you can buy online and pick it up. I've also brought my phone in and showed them online prices. They match them at the register too...

Question Have I Finally Done The Impossible?!?!

I'm really glad you found some that seem to be thriving and disease free. Fingers crossed for you and thumbs up for quarantining. I can't stress it enough, especially with the stock available today. The stock of almost all chains as well as a lot of LFS stock now are just not hardy and almost...

    Sand Is Frustrating

Are you vacuuming the sand out in your picture? I'd fill the aquarium to the top with water, letting it get murky as heck, then I'd vacuum out the water only keeping the wand off the bottom. Then refill it slowly pouring the water onto a plate to avoid disrupting the bottom. Let the filter...

    Sand Is Frustrating

What type of sand? All sand has done that to me but it settles out pretty quickly in my experience. Pool filter sands seems to be less murky than play sand but it still clouds like that even after rinsing.

How Do I Deal With Water That's Too Warm From The Tap?

I live about an hour north of Houston and it's extremely hot here in the summer including the ground temperature. Water straight from the tap is 82-84F on the coldest setting. This is after letting it run for a minute or two. It's even hotter to begin with if I don't let it run a bit. pH...

Doesn't look like ich. What are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels? I'd start with simply doing frequent 50% water changes. Clean water is often the best medicine.

A lot of good advice there. I'd add quarantining new fish is a must do as it's only a matter of time before it will bite you if you're not doing it.

    Quality Co2 Regulator

@Vishaquatics, Which Fzone do you recommend? Was looking on Amazon and there's several different models. I'm looking for a decent regulator but can't justify the GLA price. Will be for a single 29 gallon planted tank.

    Check Valve And Filter Help

A check valve will only allow air to pass through it one way and will stop the siphon effect of water moving backwards through the airline which can flood your pump. The siphon effect can happen if you have a power outage or if your pump fails. I recommend the adjustable valves with a built in...

    Noisy Filter Help

I'm not familiar with that kit but can you disassemble the impeller from the pump and make sure it's clear of debris? Sometimes just pulling the impeller assembly, checking to make sure there's nothing in there, and then re-seating it making sure it's fully seated will quiet them up.

Help I Have A Challenge For You

80-100 ppm nitrate is too high for all fish. Even 30-40 ppm is not good for Rams. You need to be shooting for 5-10 ppm nitrate with Rams IMO. Wish you the best of luck.

Help I Have A Challenge For You

My guess is that your nitrates were extremely high prior to the 95% water change. High nitrates can stress fish to the point of death which would explain why it's effecting all fish. Stressed fish are more prone to succumb to illness including bacterial and fungal infections. You've got to...

    Filter Media Confusion

    Exasperated With Water Parameters

I had some ammonia show up in an established tank after I started to dose Flourish about a month ago. Big water change seemed to have fixed it. Then, 2 weeks ago, I decided to rescape a little and had a big piece of driftwood that's been in there for months decide it still wanted to float...

    Question Fluval Leds Good?

Hope you have better luck with the anubias than I do. They're supposed to be an easy plant but there's something they don't like in my water. I've tried planting them on rocks, drift wood and one in the sand. Surprisingly, the only one to take was the one planted in the sand. Go figure.

    Clamped Tail Platy Dies

Try and keep the sum of the ammonia and nitrite at 1.0 ppm or less. Example: .25 ppm ammonia + .75 ppm of nitrite = 1.0 ppm total. This amount of ammonia and nitrite can be safely neutralized with Prime by adding enough Prime for the entire tank volume. If it creeps above 1.0 ppm total...

Need That Signature Fish Or "fishes"

You can keep Bolivians at 76-78F. My understanding is they're not near as sensitive as GBR's and are actually pretty hardy. The two I have are really mellow too. They don't seem to pay any attention to the other fish I have.

    Planaria Nightmare

If they're floating in the water column as well, they're detritus worms. If you're adding fish food for your cycle, you're going to have the worms as they feed on decaying food and plant matter. They're completely harmless and their population usually explodes when there is food for them...
