    Fin Rot: Bacterial Or Fungal

I have Sterbais. Of course, the one that looks the worst is in hiding behind plants. Here is the best image of one of two black neons that are infected. Brian

    Fin Rot: Bacterial Or Fungal

Please respond only if you have an educated answer. I have two out of ten Corydoras that have been suffering with some sort of infection for years. I believe they had it when I got them as my first fish. It has now spread to the other fish in my 40 gallon. My water parameters are spec, and I am...

    Corys Are Sick

I have had 9 Sterbais Corys for almost a year. The substrate was bad for them as it was course, and many of them suffered whisker loss. Now they have been in sand for the past eight months. Two died months ago as a result of bacteria around the mouth. The remaining 7 rarely come out from the...

Am I Using A Python Correctly For Water Changes?

I was at MLS recently, talking to them about water changes. The person there acutally made me feel like I was a moron for how I was adding water back into my aqurium. So, if you have a python or similar siphon, how do you all add the water back in the tank? Here's what I do, and quite frankly...

    High Nitrates....still.

I appreciate this, but if you read the post thoroughly, I did 50% water changes every other day for three days, and it was still high. Sure, it brought it down as low as 40ppm, but it would shoot right back up.

    Neon's Are Sick

Thank you. Do you recommend a certain product to treat for a fungus? And is it a gerneral fungicide, or do you know of a specific drug or remedy? And I do have quite a bit of fish for my size aquarium, but I thought I had everything under control with filters and water changes. But I will cut...

    Neon's Are Sick

Thank you. What do you recommend I do here with the info I have provided? The question is, what do I now treat them for? That's why I created the post to be informed on what to do now.

    Fish Aren't Well

The fish that had the white fins are all gone. This is what's on the neon. Almost impossible to get a decent image of neon, but here it is. This spot is on the base of the topfin.

    Fish Aren't Well

Hummm. So how do I know how to determine if it's bacterial or disease? The fins were white, yes. So maybe bacterial. What should I do to treat? How do you kill bacteria in the aquarium?

    Fish Aren't Well

Thank you all for the nitrate info amd input. But what about my dying fish? That's kind of important here. Do high nitrates cause the symptoms I've described? I need to do something. And please, just the facts here. Info in original post.
