Ok so if it reads 1.027 specific gravity and 35 ppt on your tank how do you know what the salinity is? I was looking for a number like .1% or .3% but it doesn't give a %. Maybe 35/1000 =.035%

This goldfish has been slowly growing a lump above the eye closest to my thumb for the last 4-5 months. It is time to close the pond for winter ice soon and I don't want this to spread to other fish. What is it and is it contagious?

I read an interesting article about a fish hatchery in Iowa that is using lighting in a way I've never heard of.
After reading it I wonder if you've heard of this before and if so did it show promise with ornamental fish? This hatchery is for fish that is for food.
