the tetras are the glofish tetras and a black skirt tetra. I’ve heard from different people thatvblack skirt and glofish are basically the same but I’ve also heard a lot of mixed reviews on that. The glofish are just white skirt tetras

    Just Bought Heater Need Advice

I have the heater for the colder months mainly. During the summer the Temp should be room temp around which will be good. Thank you though I will make it 75! I’ve put a lot of work into this tank and fish community I would hate to mess them up.

You dont think 75 is too high for the other fish? The cories and molly anyways?

I have the temp set to 72 right now so I’m assuming it will take a little while to heat the tank fianlly. Is that temp too low for starting? Will it slow down the fish too much as in digestion? As for lifespan I have the heater only for winter months.

    Just Bought Heater Need Advice

I think I may start at 74 degrees. We just moved into a house and the room temp is right around upper 60s so I may start with 74. The pearl is around 78, tetras says anywhere from 70-90, Corys says they can live comfortably in 60 degrees but up to 72-78 and african dwarf frogs like 75-82 and...

I already have a sponge filter running on the opposite side of the tank from my hang on back filter. If 78 may be too hot for the tetras would 76 be ok? Maybe even 74? I don’t want to get too warm and cause issues. Do I need to up the heat gradually? Start at a lower temp and work up that way I...

    Just Bought Heater Need Advice

I just purchased a heater I’ll post the pic below. It’s for a 29 gal tank that has: gourami, tetras, cories, two african dwarf frogs, and a Molly. Anyone have any idea the best temp for all these fish? Does anyone know if there may be trouble with water changes as in shock? I’ll do my best to...

    Moving Need Advice

I have a 29 gallon tank with about 15 total fish. I’m moving five min down the road so an easy travel. I plan on emptying all the water, substrate and plants out. Should I put fish in separate bags for move or get them all in a 5 gallon bucket? I put them all in a five gallon before when I upped...

I’ve read people using turkey basters and attaching two of them together so they can get the food to the bottom. That’s how I feed the frogs brine shrimp

I drop some of the sinking pellets some days and other days I feed the frogs brine shrimp and the cories tend to get in on it. The sinking pellets are great bc the fish let it fall after awhile and the cories will go to town

My cories tend to not eat any algae it seems or maybe I just miss it. Ive thought about getting a few snails but my tank is already pretty fully stocked. 1 pearl gourami, 7 tetras, 5 cories, 2 frogs, and 1 molly. Im not sure how much snails go against the "cap" stock limit if you will but I...

I have a 29 gallon tank and do pretty much a 50% water change weekly. The tank isnt that big so im not sure how forgiving that would be. I have been reading a lot of good things about the heaters but im not entirely sold on them yet. I also want to make sure I can get a good temp for all the fish

Does anyone know if there are problems when adding new water? Since the newer water going in most likely wont be the same temp as the warmer fish tank water.

I have one pearl gourami, several glofish tetras, african dwarf frogs, several cory catfish, and one molly. Is there a good temp to aim for with these different species of fish? Also, does adding a heater help with algae control? I've had a little and am looking for more natural ways to get rid...
