I'm planning on buying an Oscar and it'll be my first one so I was wondering if you could help me identify some I took a pic from the fish store and how they'll turn out when get fully grown.
My intention is to get a very dark one with those red marks/stripes along the body.
This is just a quick and curious question, if a fish like an Oscar, or Cichlids or a common Pleco or Bala Shark never gets sold and continuously grow in a petsmart or petco store, what do they do with them?
Hopefully they don't get "disposed".
Was just curious, does anybody knows...
That's exactly what you read, if you look from above she's thwarted like an S. Been with me for almost a year and seems fine / healthy / eating normally but her body is crooked and I was wondering if there was any explanation.
hi, thanks for the reply.
Yeah I cycled many many tanks thru my life but all small ones, up to 29 gal.
First time I have a "big" tank and I take it would take me longer to cycle it with ghost feeding so I thought I could cycle it with some fish (more fun too).
I liked the idea of feeder goldfish...
I'll be cycling a new 75 gal tank and I'm planning on adding Bosemani and Turquoise Rainbows, Neon Tetras and Harlequins once the tank is cycle.
What would be a good fish to help speed up the cycle in the meanwhile?
Should I wait a week or two before adding said fish?
Go to Facebook Marketplace, I was able to buy my Marineland 75g kit for half of the retail price.
There's always someone leaving the hobby or getting rid of stuff due to moving, personal issues, etc
I was even luckier that my kit was mint, the person bought it and changed her mind due to be...
Thanks but I know very well what stability and clarity are. Been on the freshwater hobby for quite some time now. Was just in doubt about the rock since I'm a rookie in all things reef and this piece looks odd.
They also gave me a bucket of sand/gravel mix together with some fake plants so with...
I recently bought an used Biocube set and the previous owner gave some of his eqpt including some stability, clarity, scrapers etc and rocks.
I'm new to reefing so can someone help me identify what kind of rock the previous owner gave me?
So is this good to begin with?
I'm a reef beginner planning on enter the hobby setting up a biocube 29 with a center piece rock and two ocellaris.
The gravel looks mixed with the crushed corals kinda threw it off for me. Holding more bacteria could be a pro...
I have two separate temporary small tanks (two 10 gal) that I'm planning to join once I finish setting up my 75 gal permanent tank.
I recently bought a golden killifish that was too gorgeous to let it pass and I'm keeping in one of the tanks together with some teen rainbows.
In the other tank...
A big school of neon tetras or Harlequins would give a nice and interesting contrast to a full planted jungle tank like yours and also keep your maintenance to a minimum. They're easy to care.
My two cents!
Hi fellow members!
I had to move Inter state recently and i had 2 pieces of driftwood and spider wood that i kept inside a zip lock with a bit of water to keep it moisture.
Long story short, things took longer than I expected and a month later i opened the zip lock. Pieces look good but I'm...
Of course i verified before and it's totally cool by the landlord.
I'm just being careful cuz i don't want to have to pay hundreds of dollars in floor fixes due to water damage the day I leave the house.
Cool, I'll do that. I'll get some towels and be careful when working around the tank. I...
