I would just save up and get tropica or eco complete. I did the whole plant with one and then switch it out and it is stressful for all parties involved and disturbs the plant roots which is frustrating as well.
I started with a 2.5 gallon, went to a 10, got a second 10, got a 20, got a 15, got rid of a 10, got a 26, got rid of the 20,and now I have an empty 46 just waiting for a stand and fish I try so hard to stop but I end up spending $50 a month on plants, or meds, or other fish things.
I just got an LED flood light from amazon for $40 and it works great for my 26 gallon you could get 2 or even probs just a brighter one
Hyperikon LED Flood Light, 30W (120W Equivalent), 2400 Lumen, 5000K (Crystal White Glow), Waterproof, IP65, 100-277v, Instant On, UL and DLC Certified...
you might be able to find a T8 LED replacement. Some places have ones that you can just clip in instead of the fluorescent. That being said, I haven't been able to find an 18" one for myself yet. most of the ones I can see are 24" and bigger,=
Go for the honey gouramis! They're super fun! I'm not sure about a pair though and they stay quite small. or You might be able to go for one dwarf gourami. They're beautiful and a bit larger so might work as a centrepiece... I'm not an expert on stocking though so can someone else confirm if...
Thanks guys for your input! I ended up getting 2 more barbs (I'll be adding another 2-3 in a bit) and a keyhole cichlid
I'm keeping a close eye on him because one of my big moss greens was bullying him a bit at first but he seems ok now.
Cool, I'm more about the personality anyways, that's what drew me to the convicts to start with.
Maybe I''ll get the keyhole and then flesh out my barbs... I should be able to mix moss green with tiger and albinos right?
