    Bare Bottom?

Meh, I have one bare bottom tank and it actually requires the most maintenance to keep the tank looking presentable since everything's just out in the open... Doesn't look that great either. I guess if these are breeders instead of displays asthetics don't matter as much anyway, skipped over...

Question Has Anyone Ordered Assorted Pseudomugil Rainbow?

Probably stock out of the cull bin by the looks of it... If that's the best specimen they could show off makes me wonder what the rest look like lol. I was thinking about buying a school of gold laser Cory's but I figured if they're showing off two fish that look this stressed with half their...

    Which Canister?

I've had my eheim 2215 running for over a decade now, they're great. I love my canisters, they work great but I've been wanting to try out those tidal filters just for a little less hassle during maintenance but none of my tanks can accommodate hob filters without at least completely replacing...

    What Did I Just Find?

Should be fine for fresh water, I've never converted any tanks from salt to fresh so not sure if it'd just need a good cleaning/descale or if there's some issues with converting. Someone likely makes a 6500k version of those bulbs though... Im not sure if the 10000k would support plants or not...

    What Did I Just Find?

For running a 10k and an actinic, think they're called "4 pin twin cfl" or something... Been a while since I bought them, coralife makes them. Nice looking tank.

Question Looking For A Fry Id...

Yep, I kinda noticed but at that stage I wasn't sure if it's still capable of extending or not so I didn't want to rule them out initially, probably not though eh. White cloud or cpd was my initial thought though could use some more male long fin wcmm for the school so hopefully... Went through...

    Non Stop Greeness

Yea I was kinda thinking the same thing but figured it could just be the photo not showing the true tint, or maybe a bit of both even... But whether it's white cloudy water from a bacterial bloom or green cloudy water from an algae bloom, they both live in the water column and the sterilizer...

    Non Stop Greeness

Is the tank getting natural light from a window or something... Either way a Uv sterilizer should be able to fix that up. Green water won't hurt the fish in the mean time though.

Question Looking For A Fry Id...

They're wild type honeys, I was thinking about buying a sunset at one point but I just don't want to risk my current male eventually not displaying his colors, they're just too nice to mess with...

Question Looking For A Fry Id...

Found some fry in my community tank last week, I'm not sure what they are yet, I've got schools with plenty of male and females in each so basically everyone's a candidate... There's neon tetras, long fin white cloud minnows, and celestial pearl danios as well as a pair of honey gouramis which I...

    Question Small Bichir Or Discus?

Agree, although I never had an issue with my senagal in with severums for years, I'm not sure I'd trust them in an experiment with something as expensive and delicate as discus. If ropefish were an available option, I'd have no problem recommending them together, they're peaceful to things...

    Forgot My Plants Id

The plant in the centre of photo 1 is alternanthera reineckii 'roseafolia', behind it looks like ludwigia repens 'rubin' as angelcraze pointed out, but more specifically if you're looking for care instructions or something on that exact species. Third photo kinda looks more like pearlweed...

    Plant Id Please

It's a really easy plant to care for and propagate, looks great too, simply cut the stems when they need a trim and replant the cutoff... my rooted wisteria was in an inch or less of sand substrate with no root tabs or anything so you don't need anything special. At one point I was literally...

Would You Move A Happy Betta To A Bigger Tank?

In the future, when you're an experienced veteran fish keeper, you'll look back and realize a lot of advice pet stores tell you is, well... terrible. I ask them questions a lot of times to entertain myself with the responses, then I pull out my phone and Google the correct information... Lol...

Where To Get Cool Looking Decorations?

Live plants make the best decorations and eat up nitrates too while they're at it. Planted tanks might appear like they have to be a lot of work for beginners but it doesn't need to be. If you're not looking for a challenge, stuff like water wisteria will grow quite easily whether floating or...

    Question Small Bichir Or Discus?

Bichirs are cool fish, but if you want something that's gonna give that look and be compatible in a community go with a few ropefish, they're pretty awesome in groups and while they get 14" or so they're far more flexible than a bichir so a 75g would be fine to have a group of them in. Just make...

    10 Gallon Tank Water Cloudy

    Should do the trick.

    10 Gallon Tank Water Cloudy

Are you overfeeding the tank, heterotrophic bacteria blooms are caused by excess organics in the water, lighting periods won't affect it. It's usually not an issue in cycled tanks, how long has the tank been running?

    Is A Heater "a Consumable"?

I've been using hydor's inline heaters for so many years I can't even remember. They're pretty great from my experience. Got a few eheim jagers that I'm not quite as thrilled about their temperature calibration, as long as I know how much the difference between what the dial says and actual temp...
