How Attached Are They To Us?

I've always been told that no matter what don't use freeze dried anything to feed your fish. Frozen is better than freeze dried and fresh is better than frozen. I have yet to try fresh but my fish LOVE the frozen bloodworms. I intend to find a place to buy fresh from.

    Help Lump On Betta’s Fin

I'm sure the snail that's attached to him isn't helping his situation I'm sorry he's sick and yes, dropsy is fatal and they rarely get better. I recently had to euthanize one of my honey gouramis because he ended up with dropsy and only got worse.

How Attached Are They To Us?

I have a blue opaline gourami that most definitely watches me the instant I walk up to the tank. She literally keeps an eye on me when I look into the tank and if I happen to step up when she's out she'll freak out and fly to the back of the tank. I'm an animal lover and have never intentionally...

    Clean Up Crew

I'm actually trying to GROW algae in my tank for my otocinclus fish, amano shrimp and my bristelnose plecos (2). But the best things to eat algae are otocinclus fish and / or amano shrimp.

Important Is It Really Too Late For My Honey Gourami?? :'(

I appreciate everyone's input. I ended up euthanizing him. He was getting worse and not knowing what was wrong I didn't want to risk possibly infecting the rest of my tank. My other honey has been looking for his buddy but I think he'll be ok. Shall I buy another honey for him to pair with? I...

Important Is It Really Too Late For My Honey Gourami?? :'(

Does anyone have advice on the fish though? I'm about to euthanize because he's not getting better and I can't let him keep suffering. HAS ANYONE HAD SUCCESS WITH BRINGING A FISH BACK FROM PINECONING? Thanks for the advice to lower nitrates...

Important Is It Really Too Late For My Honey Gourami?? :'(

And one more thing, when I mention the filters in my water change schedule, that is just when I clean the media using tank water I'm discarding during a water change (wc).

Important Is It Really Too Late For My Honey Gourami?? :'(

Nitrates actually look like they are closer to 80...it's hard to see the comparison to the chart in the pic but its pretty high. I just did a water change Sunday. I'm also including April thru now of my water change schedule because I can't seem to keep the nitrates down! And i have a fully...

Important Is It Really Too Late For My Honey Gourami?? :'(

(Pics below) My honey gourami has dropsy and I only noticed 2 days ago. I've looked up on this site for the same issue and saw a comment - if the fish is pineconing, then its too late :'( I love this fish and hate that I couldn't notice sooner and had a fix (I've been getting things together...

    Misadventures Of Squirt And Runt

If my tank was cycling and the nitrites (purple tube) were that high, I'd for sure do at least a 1/3-2/3 water change. Those nitrites will negatively and severely affect your fish. It's suggested in research texts that small water changes are necessary during in-fish cycling.

    Dying Cory! Disentigrating Fins!

Wow! I have read all over they live up to 5 years. Now I look forward to seeing the rest of my corys live for a very long time

    Dying Cory! Disentigrating Fins!

And I wanted to make another statement. Very shortly after I added the corys to the cycled tank almost 2 years ago I decided to save some cory eggs and I put them in a 5 gallon that I had set up with a betta. These little eggs hatched a few days later and I ended up with about 9 more corys so in...

    Dying Cory! Disentigrating Fins!

Sorry, I just saw this reply. I have had the corys the entire time the tank has been set up. I did the ammonia chloride method that took about 4 weeks and once it was finally completely cycled the corys were the first to go in. For all i know the ones I bought were already a few years old so...

    Dying Cory! Disentigrating Fins!

Thank you all for your help. Since it probably wont get better (and I have a feeling it's been hiding so thats why i thought it was getting better previously) I went ahead and euthanized it. It wasn't swimming well and since im a few weeks out from being able to set up a qt tank, I didnt want to...
