Sooooooo my sister came round and had a look at the tank
Me: what is that, can you get it out
Gloria: sure but you'll owe me one
Me: yeah whatever just get it out
Gloria gets a piece of tissue puts on her marigolds, I run and hide in the kitchen
Me: is it gone
Gloria: it keeps moving I can't...
I know, I'm too scared to siphon it out. Asked my sister to come and check in the morning
At first I thought it was a long poop, then a tail.... but the thing it's attached to looks like a snail, but I don't have any snails :emoji_confounded:. It's definitely not food,
Every week it feels like I'm being hit with a different issue with my aquarium. I have a couple of questions if anyone can help. Apologies in advance but I have a lot of questions
X2 water changes per week
When I first started...
What is the water volume of the tank? 54 Liters
How long has the tank been running? Approx 2 ½ months
Does it have a filter? Yes
Does it have a heater? Yes
What is the water temperature? 25 degrees celcus
What is the entire stocking of this tank? 1 female swordtail, 3 Albino Corydoras, 4...
I have a 54l tetra starter tank, it came with heater, lights and filter, unfortunately I have no idea what filter size/speed it is.
The fish all appear to be fine, eating well, no difficulty swimming, no gasping for air, no fuzzy bits.
Regarding the nitrates it's more that they suddenly...
I started tropical fish keeping this summer, initially I was using tetra test strips however I soon came to realise I was getting false readings. I changed and stated testing water with the API master test kit however the false reading now put me in the position of doing a cycle with fish. I...
Almost every morning my lobelia cardinalis plant is floating instead of stuck in the sand substrate because my Corydoras have dug it up.
I've tried making the sand deeper where it's planted but the Corys still find a way to dig them up.
They love playing in the plants so I don't want to cover...
I am still fairly new but I am not sure your tank is fully cycled, if it was I think you should have some nitrate reading; also I have read before that fish bouncing off substrate could be a sign of bad water quality (hardness\chlorine).
Recently I posted a query as I was not sure if my...
I've been using the pets at home love fish plant food; like your tank I have sand substrate and no co2. The growth is ok-ish on the Java fern and Lobelia cardinalis, the Cryptocoryne has not grown at all.
I think it takes ages for
Marimo Moss Balls to grow
I saw a really good sand washing video on YouTube which I used to clean the sand when setting up my tank; the guy filled a large water bottle with 40% sand 60% water closed the lid and shook and repeated till clear.
Hopefully it clears up for you soon
