Now I am pretty sure he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
“Also, there is more bacteria in the substrate than in the filter anyway. The substrate is actually your most important part of the aquarium, the bed for the many species of bacteria.”
Actually avoid boiling porous rocks..not large socks. the air can expand and explode. An easier way with less risk is dumping the boiling water onto the rock in a sink or something. Just don’t put cold water on it when it’s hot because it can crack.
“This was advice Ian gave me directly, but he has written it. He runs the website Corydoras World and a FB page of the same name. He has authored books, and articles on many aspects of keeping cories have appeared on his site, in the periodical Amazonas Magazine, and likely elsewhere. Several in...
So he replied and didn't give me a link to the article and said this
"This is basic understanding among the authorities. I learned it directly from Ian Fuller, and I will not argue with Ian on cory matters." But he said he kept these loaches: Botia striata, Botia kubotai, Yasuhikotakia morleti...
You can have dwarf water lettuce. They are pretty small. About 1-2 inches or less.
If they are submerged for a long period of time they will die.
IMO duckweed is very annoying because it gets stuck to everything, even my hand. I like dwarf water lettuce. I've never kept frogbit. You can also...
I found some links on fishlore and all said they were ok.
On another forum (will post link if I get permission from...
Mine don’t really fight anymor besides the occasional chasing. I am sure he was talking about bolivians. He just said he had the male first but it was in a 5 foot 115 gallon tank. I still want to do 6. But looking for another person’s opinion too.
“I see no purpose in arguing with a nameless...
He says some people say corydoras and loaches can be together but someone named Ian Fuller has articles about not keeping corydoras and loaches together. He also said I can have 8 pearl gouramis (6 female and 2 male). Is the tank large enough for 8 of them?
I’ve been told by someone that there’s issues with the stocking.
-Boesemani rainbowfish are too active to be with pearl gouramis
-Loaches are too aggressive at feeding time to be with corydoras
-Should have 5 or 6 upside down catfish
-Colombian tetra and red eye tetra would be too nippy
