If one of your fish got ich, you have to treat the whole tank. Go organic, use cattapa leaves. Soak it in the aquarium until the water becomes brown. Am I Doing Too Many Water Changes During A Cycle?

Beneficial bacteria (not just nitrification bacteria) are all over the tank, not just in aquarium filter. They even on the air. Mostly they colonize themselves on the rough surface like in the filter media, substrate, stone, and plant's root system. I always advice any aquarist to add live...

Can High Ph (8.2) Lead To Fish Death?

I think ammonia below 1 ppm isn't that dangerous. I've more concerned about pH actually (theoretically). But me personally have neutral pH here in tap water. So I never keep any fish above 8 pH. But maybe could try lower it and see what happened.

    Depressed Losing Fish Unkown Reason

I never keep the pH above 7 which is neutral. But some of the fish you keep like cory live in acidic water (below 7 pH). Add some live plants to help absorb the nitrate. Heavily planted is the best.
