I was thinking maybe something pretty tough...like a larger green terror or something that could hold its own. And smart enough to know to keep their distance. I was thinking dithers would be too stupid to know to stay away and end up getting killed because they are just swimming around.
Bumping this up...just got a heck of a deal on a 90g tank. So the convict pair...and fry are in the 90 currently by themselves. Anything i can add with them? Hoping with the bigger tank it gives some options.
Hey everyone. Been a while since ive posted. Set my son up a 40g breeder tank in his room. He picked out convicts for his tank. So we bought 2 and realized after we got home he has a male and a female.
Im not worried about the fry overpopulating the tank as my flowerhorn loves fish fry. But...
Thank you. Aquarist, the tall plants in the corners are just regular jungle val. They do not look this good any longer, since posting this video my firemouths have decided that those jungle vals are a tasty snack, they are slowly disappearing lol.
I have 3 pictus in my 110g with my angelfish, I was thinking about moving them in with my BP's in the 125 to give them a little more floor space to chase each other around but have been a little worried, I might try it if you havn't had an issue.
I have kept Giant Danios with my 4 BP's before and worked out ok. I would not recommend them just because I don't like Giant Danios. I have kept Emerald Cory cats with mine as well with no issue. Currently, my 125 houses 4 full grown BP's, 2 juvenile Firemouths, and 2 old Bristlenose Plecos...
125g planted tank: http://youtu.be/13aO2PPSZYA
Been a while since ive been on. Here is a quick video of my planted 125g tank. 4 BPs, a male and female BN pleco and 2 small firemouths. The blood parrots are currently fighting over the plecos algae wafers.
I'm not sure anyone makes a one piece molded acrylic aquarium. You could check and see if it is possible to have someone custom make you one but i'm not sure if it is possible or not. About the only way you're going to get something 100% leak proof is to use a tupperware container.
My blood parrots are full grown so different circumstance than yours but...I have never had an issue adding any other fish to their tank. Most recently I added 2 juvi firemouths and as usual my blood parrots could not have cared less. Well I tried adding 5 bala sharks, all around 4 inches...
I know. I didn't think there was any way in this world she would go for it lol.
Hopefully it works out. This is my first time keeping more than one Oscar in a tank. They have the entire 110 to themselves.
I forgot how messy these guys are. I'm not sure how they even live. It looks like 3/4 of...
So I recently upgraded my blood parrot tank in my living room from a 110 to a 125g. Much to my surprise my wife gave me permission to set the 110 up in our bedroom!
It has been a long time since I have had an Oscar so I thought they would be perfect.
