    Betta Drawing

Ahh, I get a day off from school today. It has been crazy starting school again. I'm going to draw them today, so I'll post them when I'm done.

Oh yay! I'll draw Angel. Do you have a specific picture?

Ha, good idea Hatchet Haven. I drew a green spotted puffer, too. If I ever get a large tank, I'd make it brackish and get one of those.

    Tropical Storm (Hurricane?) Fay

Thanks. They say its not as bad as Charley. I think flooding is the major concern. My best friend has a 45 gallon freshwater and a 55 gallon saltwater tank (she got me into fish in the first place... her tanks are awesome!) and she just called and shes like "Well, we've got our battery...

    Betta Drawing

Aw thanks. All of your bettas are so beautiful they just lend themselves to be taken pictures of and drawn. I can draw some other pictures of peoples fish if they want.

    Tropical Storm (Hurricane?) Fay

I'm right in the projected area for Fay (right where Hurricane Charley hit a few years ago and destroyed everything...) and I'm pretty worried. We've got all the shutters up, and I'm pretty sure school is cancelled for tomorrow (my first day of high school, bummer). Getting all those flashlights...

    Betta Drawing

I wanted to draw a betta, so I picked one from the many beautiful bettas from the fishlore forums. I drew Martinismommy's Dunn; its not very good (don't have white or pink) but I thought you betta people would appreciate it. I think I'm going to draw Devon's Esteban next. That is one handsome...

Dwarf puffer tank (slightly improved and nearly cycled!)

Thanks. I wish I would have found that store with the silk plants before I set up my tank. They had tons of different kinds. The plastic ones just seem really edgy compared to them. I'm thinking I should slowly replace them. The background was just the other side of my old background.

Dwarf puffer tank (slightly improved and nearly cycled!)

My nitrite level went down from 1 to .50! I bought the air stones yesterday. Soon, soon... Wow, I don't even have a fish yet and I'm already thinking about my next tank. That 6.6 gallon bookshelf tank would be another great puffer home... Except this time I think I'm going to go with...

    Ammonia

I added alot of ammonia during my cycle (7.0-8.0+) which was bad (and I'm still cycling...), but in the thread Lucy posted, it advises to originally bring it up to 5 or 6, than when it goes to 0, raise it to 3-4.

    Ammonia

For my 12 gallon tank, it was about 25 drops to get it up to 4. When I cycled I added too much (40 drops) and that brought my reading very high. Around 30 got me to 5. With the ACE brand janitor ammonia, and an eye dropper that I bought at Publix. I don't know if that was much help, but...

    Ammonia

The one I found at Wal-Mart was in the cleaning supply section (in the grocery isles section), but it had a surfactant and bubbled when I shook it.

    Ammonia

I got mine at Ace Hardware. Its the ACE Brand Janitorial Strength Formula.

Dwarf puffer tank (slightly improved and nearly cycled!)

Here it is, my 12 gallon dwarf puffer tank, a couple weeks later and almost ready to house one. I'm thinking about switching some of the plants. Today I found the nicest pet store in the area, and they had a big selection of fake plants, including those paper-like ones I have been looking for...
