    40 Gallon Tank Stocking Opinions

I'll look into the soil! I don't have substrate yet. I already have root tabs as well as liquid fertilizer that I plan to use as well. :>

    40 Gallon Tank Stocking Opinions

For my substrate I'll be using CaribSea Eco Complete Planted Black. The light I'm looking at now is a Beamswork (Beamworks?) DA 6500K light. Is the four gourami okay?

    40 Gallon Tank Stocking Opinions

Thanks for the reply! It definitely is helpful and not at all annoying. c: My filter has three compartments. The first is filled with filter floss, the second with bio-rings, and the third with a dense black sponge. I try to do water changes once a week of at least 10%. The tank will have two...

    40 Gallon Tank Stocking Opinions

My main concern with overstocking is the pearl gourami, as I'm not sure how many should go in a 40 gallon tank. I did some looking online but couldn't find a conclusive answer.

    40 Gallon Tank Stocking Opinions

Hi everyone! Hopefully I'll be on more this year xD I'll be downsizing my 55 gallon to a 40 gallon. I'm not great with figuring out what is overstocked, so I'd like some opinions. The tank will have a Hydor 250 canister filter (and a heater). Here's my stocking plan so far: x1 bristlenose pleco...

    Some Updates

I love cichlids! I'm pretty sure they are usually somewhat aggressive and will eat shrimp, though. I also already have the pleco, which likes water a bit cooler than that.

    Some Updates

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've popped on here. I have some updates and then some questions regarding stocking. Unfortunately, I've taken a bit of a hit. First, Owen passed away due to dropsy a few months ago. Then, Zach got constipated and what I was trying didn't work. He also passed...

    Pygmy Cory?

I finally had a chance to look at seriously fish closely and compare temperature ranges. Here's what I found: Pygmy Cories: 72-79° F. Betta: 72-86° F. [I wouldn't keep them that high or low myself] Bristlenose Pleco: 69 - 79° F. I think I'll get pygmy cories, then, once the tank is ready c...

    Pygmy Cory?

That's okay with me. I'm going to look into it some more and see what I find.

    Pygmy Cory?

Thanks! I had heard that but wasn't sure.

    Pygmy Cory?

    Are panda cories compatible?

    Pygmy Cory?

I'll have to look into the rummy nose tetras more, because I liked those. Thanks!

    Pygmy Cory?

I'll take a look at those! I liked rummy nose tetras but heard they can be nippy. Can't bettas go a little lower than 78?

    Pygmy Cory?

I'm definitely interested. I would like a schooling fish but haven't found any yet. Just a note, I'm not a fan of tall bodied fish [skirt tetras, for example] and I'm not too fond of cardinal/neon tetras for some reason xD

    Pygmy Cory?

I'm aware that I'm understocked. c: I've looked at schooling fish and haven't really found any that I liked that were compatible. Plus, I personally like the look of a tank not stocked to the limit [though full tanks look nice too]. According to seriouslyfish, pygmy cories temp range is 72-79...

    Pygmy Cory?

Actually, it is stocked. :3 No, it's not stocked to the limit but that is the stocking I have chosen. And it's not just one betta. It's a betta, a pleco, mystery snails, and cories. Mystery snails produce a decent amount of waste, as do plecos. And my tank is only 50 gallons. C:

    Pygmy Cory?

Are they carnivores or omnivores? If they are carnivores, would they need algae wafers? I have frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms that I can feed them. And what do you mean by saying I can add more to my stocking lol I'm a bit confused by that. Just a note I don't plan on any other fish besides...

    Pygmy Cory?

Hello! I'm revising and editing my stocking plan for my 50 gallon as I do research. I originally was going to have kuhli loaches, but since my tank is open top and they are apparently known to jump, I decided that might not work out. I'm thinking instead of kuhli loaches getting a nice, decent...

Feeding Plan - Will This Work?

Hello! c: I came up with a weekly feeding plan and was wondering if you guys could see if it'll work to cover nutritional needs. Suggestions for how to rearrange it are welcome. This plan will be for a bristlenose pleco, kuhli loaches, red cherry shrimp, and a mystery snail. Monday: Repashy...

    Summer Projects [and Some Questions]

I looked at canister filters and I think I'll go with a Hydor filter. Thanks for suggesting canister filters! It seems like it'll be a good upgrade.
