My blue acara has been lethargic the past few days. He's also been swimming at a slightly off angle with his head down. Nothing to major but i did notice it.
I've been doing frequent water changes because nitrates are a bit high right now and could be stressing him out.
Other fish are acting...
I have a small tank siphon that i use to use on my tank until i got a larger one.
One of my friends is starting up a tank and could use it but its been sitting under the cabinet for a while and could use some cleaning.
The inside of the tubing looks a little gross, should i siphon warm vinegar...
Sell someplace else.
Online to someone, petco will do some trade ins, fish stores will do trade ins from time to time, look at a few more stores in your area someone will take a trade in.
Upgrade your tank.
You dont have to sell him look for a 30g tank you seem to be doing well...
i agree somthing happended to your cycle, either it wasnt ready to handle your bioload or somthing was done to lose the cycle.
Daily water changes are now required until it fully cycles.
keep nitrites below 1ppm and nitrate below 20ppm
Your fish should be ok hopefully but that high...
What are your water parameters?
I'm not sure if its normal although if he's swimming up for food that quickly and your water parameters are fine i think he's just resting from dragging that heavy tail.
I have a family member starting up a new tank.
They bought the tank off craigs list and its a bit of an awkward size. It seems to be 38 gallons.
Length x Depth x Height
Its currently cycling and is being seeded by my own personal tank so should hopefully be done soon.
