Help Calcium Other than Marine Crushed Coral?

I can't help you with that product. I use crushed coral ,which you can get at Petsmart for about $13, for a 15 pound bag.

Question Anyone have trouble with pest snails eating Anubias?

Yes, they were on drift wood. There is nothing to take a picture of just some roots and rhizomes on a log, lol.

October 2019 - Forum Upgrade Issues

I'm on a Mac desktop with IOS system. I'm sorry to give you one more problem but, when I click on the "Aquarium Details" at the top of the page, I get an Oops message error page. I first tried it yesterday and again now. Don't know if it is just me (totally possible:D) or if it is still being...

Question Anyone have trouble with pest snails eating Anubias?

I know, All the books and references say the same thing. Unfortunately, my snails don't read and ate the plants in front of my eyes, as I tried to pick them off:confused:

Question Anyone have trouble with pest snails eating Anubias?

Thanks, the plants in quarantine are much larger. I'll put them in the tank when they are ready, and hope for the best. The Anubias is my favorite, I would hate not to be able to grow any.

Question Anyone have trouble with pest snails eating Anubias?

I don't know. It was a new tank and the only thing in it was the decor, which was purchased from the shelves. A short time after I added the fish, I noticed what appear to be bladder snails. The only thing I can think is that the snails were a BOGO with purchase of fish:D. While I didn't...

    New Here

I wouldn't worry so much about the Ph, mine was low and still cycled. On the advice of @mattgirl, I added crushed coral and it has slowly brought up the Ph. Since you added One and Only, you may not see a big nitrIte spike, you'll just suddenly have nitrAtes. Keep adding the ammonia until it...

Is Your Dream Tank Freshwater or Saltwater?

Since it's just a dream, I have to go with the really big saltwater tank full of coral, sea creatures and bright tropical fish. Sigh...maybe Publishers Clearinghouse will come through for me one day, as that is the only way I'll ever be able to afford it:)

Question Anyone have trouble with pest snails eating Anubias?

I don't know- I drop in an algae wafer or veggie wafer once or twice a week otherwise they eat off the sides of the tank and silk plants.

Question Is it ok to let my Bettas play with my fingers?

It's fine as long as they aren't all "puffed up" ( I can't think of the correct term right now). In my experience, they will only come around you, if they trust you. As FinalFins said, "consider yourself lucky."

Question Anyone have trouble with pest snails eating Anubias?

I have pest snails (bladder, I think) that came free with my fish:arghh:, I have been pulling them out with each water change to control the population. Recently, I decided to try a planted tank and put drift wood with 3 small tissue culture Anubais in the tank. The plants were doing well for...

Thoughts On Treating With Antibiotics Instead Of Quarantine?

Is there no way you can get something cheap to quarantine them in? Using antibiotics prophylacticly is just going to create antibiotic resistant organisms, for both the fish and us. Unless you are sure of what bacteria you have, what antibiotic to use, and for how long, you are doing the fish...
