What are you doing to your tank today?

I haven't tried it for algae, but 1.5 mL/gal of hydrogen peroxide supposedly gets rid of algae nicely. Check out marksshrimptanks's "H202 In The Shrimp Tank"

    Need help: Goldfish head standing

Surgery? Wow. Can you post a picture of it? That may help. What are your nitrates and stuff at?

10 Gallon Tank Is This Ich?

It is not harmful to plants from my experience... Although the lack of fertilizer is very slowly killing off some leaves because I'm not sure if the fertilizer mixing with the treatment is a good idea.

10 Gallon Tank Is This Ich?

I have 6 neon tetras (and some shrimp) in a 10 gallon tank. The tetras started to get white dots on them (body and fins). I have been treating them with Ich-X (about every 24 hours with a 1/3 water change as directed) for about two weeks now. Most of the tetras only have a few dots here and...

    Neon Tetra with Red Gills

Yes, I have a quarantine tank. I was waiting for advice on what it was and how to treat it so that it could get better before I add it in. I'm not going to add it to my tank until a while after it looks healthy.

    Neon Tetra with Red Gills

Yes, my tank has been cycled for years. I have had the fish for a few hours, so it hasn't been introduced to my tank yet. Still acclimating/quarantining it. My tank is at 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, about 10 nitrate. PH of about 7.4. I'm acclimating with the drip method to prevent any stress. I'm...

    Neon Tetra with Red Gills

I just bought 2 neon tetras from my LFS. One of them has a dark redness around his gill area on the left side. His other side looks fine. He's dull in color. The other tetra that came with him looks fine. The LFS had just remodeled and cleaned their tanks. Could it be ammonia burn? Gill flukes...

What Type of Snail is This?

The eggs weren't above the water, it doesn't have a trap door, and the shape of the shell isn't like a mystery snail's. I'm pretty sure it isn't a mystery snail

What Type of Snail is This?

Yeah, the shell and the body are super see-through. It's just now starting to gain color. It's a brownish honeycomb-looking pattern. I think so. There's a brownish area that has transparent spots in a honeycomb-ish pattern.

What Type of Snail is This?

Thanks! The shell is occupied. It was crawling its way across the gravel as I was taking the picture. My phone was just having a super hard time focusing on the entire body

What Type of Snail is This?

I bought some plants and noticed there were clear sacs--each with about a dozen snail eggs in them--attached to a big, leafy plant. A few of the snail eggs didn't get rinsed off and hatched in my tank. I thought they were ramshorn eggs at first, but now that they're bigger, they don't look like...

    Shrimp and Ich Treatment

Maybe, but the neons and the guppies both started looking very sick within like a day. I've had them for a few weeks, so it's odd to me that things are starting to pop up now. Especially so quickly Omg I just realized I did actually type 8.2 instead of 7.2. That was a horrible typo, sorry! It's...

    Shrimp and Ich Treatment

Do you think it could possibly be neon tetra disease? I'm trying to do as much research as I can right now...

    Shrimp and Ich Treatment

So, I don't see more white dots... But my fish are all extremely pale right now. I have a neon tetra, maybe a couple, slowly swimming in circles. I literally have no idea what's going on... My boyfriend said they didn't eat very much this morning. My guppies' fins are looking extremely pale too...

    Plant Propagation

There's a bunch of plants that you can get that will grow quickly. Almost all of them will, under the right conditions. I would recommend Thrive by Nilocg for liquid fertilizer. It's basically the same as what you have, but better. Liquid fertilizer is for plants that get most of their nutrients...
