Somehow this fish got into my tank from a decoration he was hidden inside of, I believe he's a spotted talking catfish. Would he be suitable for a community tank because he needs to moved from my 75 gallon. He's very small and I have a crayfish in the tank he's in now and he's already caught him...
Nothing's changed in the tank except I've been adding a biofilm supplement to give them more food to graze so maybe this is what's causing it. If it's nothing harmful it's kinda cool for them to have some color at least.
Mine did the same thing when I added two new pieces , I just kept up with my normal water changes while the shrimps ate it up and nothing bad ever happened. That growth is pretty common with new driftwood pieces
Mollys usually need about 29 gallons anyway but once those fry grow you will be overstocked, plus some of your fish are schooling fish which need about 5-6 of a species so I'd look into upgrading your tank soon.
Didn't think of this before but you said this is new behavior , is their anyway you can test the water parameters? They can produce a lot of waste in a tank that size so you could be having some sort of ammonia spike causing him to try to escape also
