I'm still fairly new at the aquarium hobby, and got into this after my dad's now ex wife left her tank for him to care for. He didn't have the heart to get rid of the fish so I took over maintenance and my love for an aquatic ecosystem grew.

I have been learning the ropes for about a year now, maybe a little more. My 38 has been established since then; the original one that was left for my dad to care for cracked and we had to scramble to buy a new tank. That's how I first learned of the nitrogen cycle. My 5.5 and 10 gallons have been established for just under a year, and my 75 began its cycle about 6 months ago.
