Stocking Ember Tetras in a 10 gallon

Thanks EdieBadedie ! I had 6 pygmy's in the tank, but the betta attacked 2 of them in the first night and they didn't make it! It was very sad - lesson learned.

Stocking Ember Tetras in a 10 gallon

I currently have a 10-gallon tank with 4 Pygmy Corydoras, 4 Amano Shrimp, and 1 Mystery Snail. I was wanting to add Ember Tetras, but this is my first tank so I wanted some advice on how many to purchase online. Aquadvisor says that I could have up to 12. I think that the minimum would be 6 for...

10 Gallon is boring, my fish hide all day, need stocking ideas

So if I got a pair of killifish they clearly need to be the same sex so they won't breed. ChrisX I have a shrimp feeding dish in the front of the tank and I only feed them in the morning. If they are really hungry then they mostly just sit in the dish! Is the dish part of the problem? I use it...

10 Gallon is boring, my fish hide all day, need stocking ideas

I have 6 pygmy corydoras in a 10 gallon. I initially put a new male betta in with them, but he was mean and harassed and nipped at them so I had to take him out and put him in a new solo tank. It has been 2 weeks and my pygmies are in the habit of hiding all day and only come out at night. My...

Will Pygmy Corys Overpopulate my 10 gallon?

MacZ so you don't think that this is a concern? I'm just trying to be proactive since my original plan went out the window once I had to remove my Betta from the tank. I also found a few sources which indicated that you can breed them pretty easily because they don't typically eat the fry like...

Fluval spec V gal too strong current?

Some have mentioned that there is a pre-filter sponge Fluval makes that you can put on the intake, which reduces the flow.

Will Pygmy Corys Overpopulate my 10 gallon?

Would some amano shrimp eat the eggs? Ember tetras look cool but would they overpopulate as well? You mentioned that the embers won't eat fry, will they eat the eggs?

Will Pygmy Corys Overpopulate my 10 gallon?

Are ember tetras a schooling fish? I'm not sure I have enough room in a 10-gallon for another school. Would a single guppy fish be enough to keep down the pygmy cory population?

Will Pygmy Corys Overpopulate my 10 gallon?

I am stocking a new 10 gallon tank with new fish and things aren't going well. I bought a male betta and 6 pygmy corydoras. Unfortunately, my betta is mean and harassed/nipped at my cories for 2 days so I took him out. I think I am going to buy a Fluval Spec V (is this a good tank?) for his new...

Betta + Pygmy Corydoras in a 10 gal (how long should I wait?)

I wouldn't think that this would likely help since I just got the betta (he is new to the tank)? The pygmy corydora's were in their first and this is the first time that he has ever been in this tank. In any event it is better than having 2 tanks so I'll give it a shot.

Betta + Pygmy Corydoras in a 10 gal (how long should I wait?)

Yesterday I put a new male betta in 10 gallon a tank with 6 pygmy corydoras. He has been following them around and consistently harassing them ever since. It appears that I am going to having to take the betta out and put him in another tank. Since it's only been a couple of days how long should...

Stocking a 35L Biorb Tube (Cylinder Shape) with a Male Betta

Here is a picture of the 35L Biorb Tube before the conversion to Biohome substrate and also a picture of my betta: Here is a picture of the tank before the conversion upgrade that I am starting.

Stocking a 35L Biorb Tube (Cylinder Shape) with a Male Betta

This is my first fish tank and is a bit ambitious, but I can't wait to see how it all comes together. Tank I decided on the 35L (9 Gallon) Biorb Tube. It's such a nice looking tank. I plan to keep it on my kitchen counter in a shaded spot under the cabinets. I have read on here that there are...
