Canister filter making a running water noise

This might be a stupid question but are you sure all of the connections are fully open? I run a cascade canister and the only time it sounds like running water is when one of the valves are closed or if the water level in the tank is to low and the outflow is hitting the top. Sorry I couldn't...

I thought that's what I was say haha-- sorry if that's not how it was interpreted. Pro bigger tank for sure!

Snails you would have no problem with. The only issue you would run into would be in the betta confuses the antennas for worms but I have never experienced that first hand. The snails usually retreat before that happens plus my Bettas have all been very well manners (but maybe I'm just lucky)...

    10g stocking

I have yellow shrimp, my male betta, some snails and a dwarf goby in my ten gallon. everyone is VERY happy. The gobies are very interesting but make sure it's a dwarf as these feed on algae and won't bother the betta like the regular size ones would.

Important New and Inexperienced with a Sick Betta

I would recommend a botanical mix. you can either add adler cones and almond leaves right to the water OR you can boil some water and make a tea with them (and once cooled down add it to the tank). This will release tannins into the water which has beneficial properties for bettas. This will...

    Nerite Snail Issues

RIGHT!?! This brings me back to my only theory which was that one nerite got infected with a wound or something from the hydra and then that caused a chain reaction? However, to debunk that, I have almond leaves and drift wood in my tanks AND I even dosed with a liquid botanical extract (which I...

    Nerite Snail Eggs

If you trade in the nerites for a single mystery snail then you won't run into that issue-- I currently have eggs EVERYWHERE from my nerites and don't plan on removing them from the rocks or wood because like I said, EVERYWHERE. It's a lost battle in my opinion haha, sorry to say.

    Nerite Snail Issues

Certainly! Here's all three tanks (5,10 and 30)-- all attached. Towards the end of their lives, I had about 4 nerites in the 10g (with my BEAUTIFUL betta-- in the pic ), 5 in the 30g and 1 in the 5g. All other snails are alive. I have a ton of shrimp including babies and none of my fish have...

Help I Think My Betta Is Dying. What Do I Do Next?

Other meds you could try (if you haven't done so yet): 1. Definitely add some almond leaves back into the tank 2. Melafix 3. Pimafix 4. Brightwell Fish Recovery; which is extracted botanicals (my personal favorite)...
