  1. I'm getting tattooed again! :D

    Very nice!
  2. I'm getting tattooed again! :D

Haha, I got my first one at 18 but it ended up being so regrettable that I had it covered up at 22 with a butterfly. I got a very small fleur-de-lis on my left wrist at 28. It's been 6 years since that one so I was due. I have some other ideas as well. I really liked my artist so I'm sure I...
  3. I'm getting tattooed again! :D

    Nice, you should post pics!
  4. I'm getting tattooed again! :D

    Fresh ink.
  5. New 55 Gallon

Many species of loaches are really pretty scrappy. I used to keep 3 Botia modesta (they've probably since been reclassified, lol) in a 75 gallon with a jack Dempsey, a severum, and 2 parrot cichlids (although I would not keep parrot cichlids again). The Botia easily held their own; in fact, I...
  6. 1 Gallon Tank Mystery Snail Breeding tank.

Shatterproof glass? I dunno, sounds kinda suspect. Celestial pearl danios can easily be kept in a 5 gallon tank, but they aren't exactly budget friendly fish. Most danios are not suitable for tanks this small.
  7. I'm getting tattooed again! :D

I've got an appointment for next Wednesday. I'm so stoked. I went and checked out the shop today and it looked awesome, and my artist seems very cool... so I went ahead and paid the deposit to book the appointment. If all goes well I'll go back for the larger upper arm piece that I am planning...
  8. Transferring clown loach and pleco from a 30 gallon tank to a 200+ gallon tank

Haha, on the rare occasions that I actually drip acclimate, I just diy it with some airline tubing and a chip clip to hold the tubing on to the bucket. The kit looks nice, I'm just too cheap! :-P
  9. Transferring clown loach and pleco from a 30 gallon tank to a 200+ gallon tank

If you can get pics, that would be great. We could probably help you figure out exactly what you're working with. IMO it is very unlikely that a clown loach and pleco will be terrorized by a parrot fish.
  10. Transferring clown loach and pleco from a 30 gallon tank to a 200+ gallon tank

The loach should be fine. It's the koi that I'm more concerned about. I've seen koi that were easily 2' long... large enough to make even a 200 gallon look small. You've got some time here, to be sure, but koi are really pond fish when it comes down to it.
  11. New 55 Gallon

A pair of pearl gourami or angelfish would be nice, and you can round that out with a nice big group of tetra or rasbora (one large group looks better imo than multiple groups of different species, but that's just my opinion), then maybe some corydoras or smaller loaches. You have a lot of...
  12. Transferring clown loach and pleco from a 30 gallon tank to a 200+ gallon tank

Welcome to FL! I agree with Mamajin and Claireputput. If you have any doubts that the water parameters are close, I would recommend a 5 gallon bucket with drip acclimation. Here is an article that briefly describes how to drip acclimate your fish. If your water parameters are similar, I'd...
  13. 120 gallon Tanganyika Cichlid tank, before and after

Thank you! I got the proven breeding group of cylindricus and the juvie Cyprichromis from members of my local fish club, and I ordered the Synodontis. Here's where I make yet another plug for joining a fish club in your area, if you have one. Trust me on this.
  14. 120 gallon Tanganyika Cichlid tank, before and after

Haha, looks like we were posting at the same time! I love the holey rock too, but have never been in the position to score over 200 lbs. of medium to large pieces... I was in nerd heaven when I saw that guy's truck bed. ;D I am considering buying more at the next meeting just because the price...
  15. 120 gallon Tanganyika Cichlid tank, before and after

Thanks! I wasn't so much displeased with the aesthetic of the one pile o' rock from before, it's just that I figured I needed a lot more rock to fully stock this tank. Plus, we got some STUPIDLY nice pieces of rock from this guy. The biggest one is about 60 lbs, and that was only like the medium...
