Switching gravel to sand; What to do with fish

I am deciding to switch from gravel to sand. I apologize for my questions as I am sure they have been answered a lot on this site. I have been researching for a while now. However, there seems to be conflicting preferences on leaving the fish in or taking them out? I would love to hear personal...

    Stocking w. Glofish Danios

That's really interesting! Thanks for sharing! So what do my danios do? They swim all crazy around the tank. I have 5 (maybe I need more to school) and I don't think I have ever seen them face the same way at once. The group sometimes but then they are off zipping around.

    Stocking w. Glofish Danios

Yeah, those are cool. I mean I am pretty open to anything. My biggest concern is everyone getting along. Would you need to get a certain number of Panda Cories? Do they go better in groups or alone?

    Stocking w. Glofish Danios

PH: 8.0-8.2. It is high from my tap water. However, I let the water sit our for 24 hours before adding it to make sure it has adjusted and there is no swing. Ammonia & Nitrite - 0 Nirtate - 20ppm It is long I do like pygmy corys. I heard (not sure how true) that they are hard to find in fish...

    Stocking w. Glofish Danios

Hi all, I have a 20g fully cycled tank. I have now been adding fish in slowly. So far I have 5 glofish danios. I plan to get one more as I heard to keep them in groups of 6 or more. I was wondering what else would be a good addition to the tank? Mainly what other fish would be good with danios...

    PH and Dying Glofish

That is really interesting, thanks for sharing. It's hard to believe that water can change that much and that quickly. When I first tested my tap water months ago I tested it right away, I didn't know about the 24hr wait period. I couldn't believe it went up that much in 1 day. I'm hoping when I...

    PH and Dying Glofish

Awesome, I will have to try that. I feel awful that the poor fish start with a PH of 7.4 and then over 24 hours go up to a 8.4. No wonder they are dying. I always just assumed my well water was okay.

    PH and Dying Glofish

Would you recommend storing the water for 24 hours before doing a water change? I know it's a pain and takes up room but that way it is not fluctuating like crazy once I put it in the tank.

    PH and Dying Glofish

I do use a water conditioner, just in case it's not. I also doubled checked to see if the conditioner had anything about PH changing on it, which is does not. I will certainly be testing it daily. Thanks!

    PH and Dying Glofish

So long kinda longish story so please bare with me. Last month I got a 10g tank and cycled the tank. I slowly added in 6 glofish danios. Well after a few days one died, a few days later another died. I was doing some research and saw that keeping them in such a small tank was cruel since they...

    Adding New Fish

Thanks, it was mine too. I am just thankful the water didn't all drain out. I want to upgrade to a 20g in the near future. They certainly are active. It's so fun to watch them zip around the tank. I'm glad they will be happy to get company. I feel bad they only had each other for a month.

    Adding New Fish

It was one of those glofish tanks. I was so mad. I actually ended up replacing it with an aqueon too.

    Adding New Fish

So I got a new tank about a month ago. It is a 10 gallon tank, with two danio glofish, and I "started" cycling it with TSS. However, I came home from work just around the two week mark to find the whole tank had pretty much emptied onto my floor. So needless to say I had to get a new tank. I...

With a heavy heart I must say Hanzo passed away today. I feel like the worst fish mom ever. I really got attached to him. At least he is no longer suffer.
