I had goldfish when I was a kid. I realize now as an adult that I wasn't keeping them properly. But all things considered I did good for the situation. Two years ago my friend gave me an angelfish as a moving in present in my new apartment. I had no clue what I was doing! I had never even seen an angelfish in person, let alone cared for one. Thank goodness for the internet! I knew enough to know that the 3 gallon tank I received him in was far too small, even though he was about half dollar size at the time. I was short on money then, car troubles were a serious drain. But luckily a friend gave me a 10 gallon for free! Castiel was in there for not quite a year, and I always knew I needed a bigger tank, but money was still an issue. I had 4 cars in an 8 month time span, the struggle is real you guys. But fortune smiled upon me again, and another friend gave me a 20 gallon hex tank for free! I got cas moved in there in february or march of this year. My financial(car) has been much more stable this year too, so I actually have money to spend on tanks and supplies and what not. I bought a 20 gallon long with a ton of supplies used for cheap. It came with 1 glofish danio, which I know is a schooling fish so lonliness was probably killing it. I got her 2 friends, as I just had them in a 2.5 gallon quarantine tank until the 20 was cycled, and I didn't dare put more than 3 in a tank that small. Finally got good levels on the 20 and transferred them. Was planning on getting more for a proper school, when I noticed some issues I needed to treat them for. So now I've just finished that up, and will be getting more for a proper school soon. I am also going to be getting a 37 gallon for my angelfish soon, and am tbinking of venturing into live plants for it. I keep many houseplants and love them, so I'd really like some in my aquarium too! I'm sure I will ask many more questions on this forum in my fish keeping adventures!
