Nitrates are fine. It is hard to tell with the color chart, but it is either 0 or 5 ppm. It may be a genetic trait the father does have fins that curve back a little. Overall I am very happy with this batch of fry as long as more don't develop a severe curve.
I will definitely keep an eye on...
I will check the nitrate level. I have been using Purigen in the filters.
I have been doing 50% water changes every 2 to 3 days. For the first month I was doing 25 or 50 % everyday. I currently have around 120 fry in 90 gallons of water.
I have done a little research and it seems like people are more concerned with kinks or sharp bends. I think I will grow out most of the fish with curved dorsal fins.
Does anyone have an opinion on how curved a dorsal fin should be?
One thing that I did notice is that one tank has a higher percentage of curved fins and that tank has slightly more water flow from a HOB filter. None of the tanks have much flow but I thought that was interesting.
I have my first batch of baby angelfish. They are 2 months old and are doing great. The larger ones are bigger than a quarter and the smaller ones are still dime size. Out of about 140 I have had to cull about 15 because they had fin issues. From what I have read that seems like an...
Thank you for the replies, The fish were slightly larger than a quarter when I got them. This one has always had a bent fin.
I have a 20 gallon all set up and ready to to for a pair ( I am thinking I may upgrade to a 30 once I get a pair going). This zebra and another slightly smaller zebra...
I have 7 angelfish that are about 10 months old and I was hoping to get a breeding pair. One blue marble has paired up with a blue zebra. The blue marble is in my opinion the best looking fish out of the bunch and the blue zebra is large and healthy. My concern is that the zebra has...
I purchased 3 silver hatchetfish 2 months ago. I added them to my group of seven and as soon as I put them in the tank I noticed that the ones that I added had tiny white spots. I was pretty sure it was ick so I raised the temperature up to 84 - 86 and did frequent water changes for...
I am looking for the least aggressive combination. I have never had angels before. I was under the impression that the more angels you have the less aggressive they are (until they start pairing off).
Would I be better off with four?
Thank you for the advice,
They will be going in a 60 gallon tank. I think I will probably get six fish. I would like to get some koi and some blue.
I was really impressed with angelplus.com but most of their fish are out of stock.
Thank you for the replies,
