How Do I Clean Gravel Vacuum

How do I start the vacuum though? I've been following the instructions on the package and it said to completely dunk it in the water to start it and I don't think I can do that with really hot water. Also, does the water have to be boiling or can I just use really hot tap water?

So, do I just soak the whole thing in hot water? The bottle cleaner I have is pretty huge and I don't know how to fit it in the middle of the pipe.

How Do I Clean Gravel Vacuum

Hello everyone! I have a 10 gallon tank which I usually clean every 7-10 days. I normally vacuum the gravel with the gravel vacuum/siphon. I am getting a few bacterial colonies on the pipeline of the vacuum and I would like to clean and disinfect it but I'm not sure how to. Any tips?

10 Gallon Tank New Fish Maybe?

Would it be a bad idea to add a few male guppies? I don't want the other fish to eat them. Also, is there a website or book where I can find the bioloads and compatibility of different fish?

10 Gallon Tank New Fish Maybe?

I was always told by pet shops/fish stores to use the "one inch, one gallon" rule. So, it is possible to add a Buenos Aires Tetra and another fish?

I currently have 2 Buenos Aires Tetras and 1 Mickey Mouse Platy. My other Mickey Mouse Platy died almost 2 months ago because of a swim bladder issue. There have been no other instances of disease in the tank since. I was wondering which type of fish I could add (my Mickey Mouse Platy has been...

    Help Mickey Mouse Platy Issue

I don't have a water test kit as I am very strapped for cash right now. I change about 40%-45% every two weeks. I've had the Tetras for 2 months and the Platys for a little over a month. In order to cycle the tank, I added the beneficial bacteria before adding any fish and also with every water...

    Help Mickey Mouse Platy Issue

So, I started feeding the fish granules and they still seem to be adjusting to it. The problem is that the affected fish hasn't eaten any of the peas. Should I stop feeding them completely? Pictured here: Simba, with concerned friend, Mufasa (orange)

Help Help With Buenos Aires Tetra!

Hello, I recently came back from a weeklong holiday. I started feeding my fish as soon as I came back. On an earlier post, I mentioned how one of my fish got a swim bladder issue after the holiday. However, I noticed a couple of days ago that another fish got a big white patch on the side of it...
