Can I Put Two Female Cichlids Holding Eggs In The Same Tank To Release?

That is a possibility. I certainly don’t have room to keep two batches long term. This would simply be to have the experience of growing a full batch (or two in this case) out, and then sell them. How long does one usually keep babies before they are big enough to sell? I happened to buy my...

Can I Put Two Female Cichlids Holding Eggs In The Same Tank To Release?

Darn it, wait... it’s a 20 gallon hex tall Did stock of tank’s again I have the 20 gallon tall hex, a 10 gallon and two 5 gallon rectangular tanks. So there is a 10, but that still seems kind of small...but I understand the footprint of the 20 gallon hex technically is “small” too since it’s a...

Can I Put Two Female Cichlids Holding Eggs In The Same Tank To Release?

Hi, I have limited room for extra tanks, and would like to give the female red zebra AND the female yellow lab, both holding eggs in my large tank a break from being chased and having to hide. I have never happen to see both species holding eggs at the same time since I’ve has this tank set up...

Update: Brown Spots On Red Zebra Got Worse, Last Post With Updated Pic

The two spots are now spreading in streaks/rub marks since I last posted. No one else aside from the one other fish s above has the brown rub mark looking affliction, but it is definitely bigger than just the two original spots on this red zebra male? Any ideas? I’ve treated with prazipro in...

Update: Brown Spots On Red Zebra Got Worse, Last Post With Updated Pic

Can do! I have both of those, along with spirulina flakes, frozen brine+spirulina cubes, and marine flakes with garlic...and I hand peel peas for them once or twice a week And thank you! I was actually embarrassed to post those pictures! The tank needs to be cleaned and the sand is all uneven...

Update: Brown Spots On Red Zebra Got Worse, Last Post With Updated Pic

This guy shows similar marks to the dominant red zebra male (though red zebra MUCH fainter marks)...more like paint scuff marks. And there are lots of rocks that could cause this if that is possible, but this guy has had these “scuff marks” for a month or more... I may be worries about nothing...

Update: Brown Spots On Red Zebra Got Worse, Last Post With Updated Pic

Ok yay! That puts me at ease for him at least. I was thinking like with my horse, do I need to take this fish out of the tank and remove these things like ticks?!

Update: Brown Spots On Red Zebra Got Worse, Last Post With Updated Pic

oh, minor update. There are some little brown marks on my brute dominant male red zebra, and I can see a little brown INSIDE his mouth... but the brown marks on his side are NOT definite spots like pictured above, they are extremely faint and look moreclike rub marks like a car gets when it...

Update: Brown Spots On Red Zebra Got Worse, Last Post With Updated Pic

HI All! I have a red zebra cichlid that is in hiding mode (she is one of my females that seems to be constantly breeding, so I think she tries to take a break ocassionally from my brute of a dominant male, and hides). She looks like she got punched in the lip and I noticed two distinct brown...

How Often To “clean” Filters? Or Have I Found A Magic Zone?

hmmm that makes sense. I DO vacuum the sand probably weekly to remove stuff that has settled on the substrate... does that count as “removal of solids” or are you talking about some other method. Cleaning the substrate is one thing I am still OCD about... I don’t like how easily yucky stuff...

How Often To “clean” Filters? Or Have I Found A Magic Zone?

Yep! I’ve never changed ANY of the biowheels nor cleaned them. I just use the little bristle brush to clean the tubes out that let water flow through to keep the wheels wet and rotating.

How Often To “clean” Filters? Or Have I Found A Magic Zone?

First; LOVE your name “Fishlore VIP”. Edited... ahhh, Demeter is your name, VIP is your level... obviously my name is still suitable after close to 1.5-2 years! Wow, ok so that’s one person that says changing or rinsing the media infrequently is ok! I’ll take it! Would love a few more...
