    Help Changing Substrate

Just a quick add on to the above suggestions. Don’t do any filter maintenance or cleaning before you attempt this and never move a tank with any water in it. It puts incredible pressure on the corners of the tank and 6 months later, you’ll wonder where that leak came from. You will lose some...

    Help Betta An Molly

Oh and don’t beat yourself up about it! We’ve all been there lol. Every fish keeper has made a bad decision, bought the wrong fish or the right but it still didn’t work out. It happens. Just do the best you can ♥️

    Help Betta An Molly

Female mollies get up to 5 inches and to prevent him chasing them to death you would need 3. 3 x 5inch females and a 4 inch male, plus the cats and the betta would need at least a 30-40g tank. Plus they would be breeding so the numbers would just keep going up and up. So no way will that work...

    Cloudy Water

Your results may not be accurate with test strips. They give a round about answer lol You definitely can get a bacteria bloom during a mini cycle, and that may be part of what’s happening. The question is why I’m going to assume you have nitrAtes(that test strips can’t show due to your water...

    Help Betta An Molly

It really depends on the personality of the individual fish. Some bettas are really laid back and some are douchenozzles lol. I understand what you were going for, it just didn’t work out. That’s why you should always have a backup plan for a betta community attempt. Anyway, it is what it is...

    Cloudy Water

I’m a little confused. You said the parameters are fine, but then said the tank is cycling. It can’t be both lol. If you have any amount of ammonia or nitrite (nitrate should be kept around 10 or below. Nitrate will only appear near the end of the cycling process) then the tank is cycling and...

To Snail Or Not To Snail?

That’s my baby girl Zoe. She’s a total weirdo I test drive my nerites now lol. I put them in the 30g first, if no eggs they can be moved to the betta tanks. The eggs don’t bother me in bigger tanks, but drive me nuts in a small 5g. They are cool little dudes, have fun with them

    Cloudy Water

Are your water parameters good? Are you testing daily? Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate less then 10? If they are good, then just ignore the cloud. It will clear on its own. If they aren’t, do whatever is required to keep the fish alive. If there is any ammonia then you should up your changes to...

    Help Betta An Molly

If you can’t get a 5g for the betta, (5g are tiny. I have 4 in my bedroom. They fit on a nightstand quite easily) you’d be better off keeping her in a breeder then the molly. Bettas adapt to small quarters better, the molly will need the space much more then she will. The problem with keeping a...

    Is My Fish Ok?

It always sucks having to put any animal to sleep. I’m sorry you may have to do it, but it’s kinder then letting them waste away for weeks. You could try antibiotics first and occasionally parasites can cause lesions as well. Being a dwarf gourami though, it’s not likely. It’s something like 1...

    Help Betta An Molly

60l, that’s only like 16g right? Molly’s are community fish, they like to be with their own kind. He’s definitely looking for company, which the betta doesn’t like as she has claimed the tank for herself. Unfortunately 16g isn’t big enough for Molly’s, they can reach 4-5 inches, produce a lot of...

To Snail Or Not To Snail?

Awesome names! Just a quick note. If you get female nerites they will lay awful white eggs everywhere, that are super hard to get off. Means they’re happy though, and the eggs may not bother you lol

    Is My Fish Ok?

Sorry to say but if it is dwarf gourami iridovirus, there is nothing you can do. It’s a disease that only dwarf gourami(you don’t have to worry about the other fish) get and it’s always fatal. Keep the water clean, feed him good food and when he starts to suffer, put him to sleep.
