Thanks very much!
They're on top of the substrate and hidden by the rocks and driftwood.
I didn't want to disturb the substrate in case the thinner layer of gravel under the pots caused problems with the UGF!
Okay, so it has been over a month since the big tank rescape so I thought I'd post an update.
I think everything is looking amazing...
The plants are doing great!
Even the Echinodorus! A couple of leaves are being eaten by the Red Cherry Shrimp, but there are new ones growing - that's a...
Okay, so I thought I'd post a quick update.
Nothing much has changed since my last post, in which I mentioned that I was removing the artificial plants which were collecting algae for some reason.
They've now all gone but that has brought with it a new problem.
Unfortunately the algae has now...
Okay so there are changes happening in this tank.
Just like my 30 gallon Bedroom tank and 55 gallon Living Room tank, I'm going to remove the remainder of the artificial plants and replace them with real ones.
I've already taken the first step and have removed the artificial plants.
Here's what the tank...
Okay, so its been just over a month since my last update for this tank and I've decided to have a bit of a change!
I'm in the process of removing all of the artificial plants and will eventually be replacing them with real ones.
The artificial ones seem to be collecting quite a bit of algae...
Okay, so it's been over a week since the big rescape, and the addition of four new Sterbai Cory's, so I thought I'd post an update.
The new Cory's are doing great and seem to love exploring the tank. In fact they seem to have given my original two year old Cory's a new lease of life as they're...
Okay so the four new Sterbai Cory's seem to be settling in well.
After initially going into hiding for 24 hours they're all now out and about, schooling with the original guys, and are all feeding.
I must admit that I didn't realise how small they were when I picked them up. Here's a shot of...
Thanks, yes the plants are doing a lot better than I'd ever imagined.
I think the Flex is an excellent little tank and I particularly like how the filter works at the rear of the tank. I wish bigger tanks had a similar system.
Okay so I made a quick trip to my favourite LFS this morning to purchase some new driftwood to replace the stone at the right hand side of the tank.
I got a trio of pieces that are currently soaking in a bucket and should do the job nicely.
However, I also did something quite rash!
Okay so I'm still monitoring water parameters in this tank because I was hoping the plants would help keep the nitrate in check.
Last week I was disappointed that nitrate had crept up to 25ppm before water change day.
However, after measuring nitrate today it was basically 0ppm!
So it does...
