Finding fish care and fish profile information can be challenging for those aquarium hobbyists just starting out. We've broken the fish profiles down by common name here to hopefully make it easier for you to find your species. When discussing your fish species it is advisable to use the scientific name since it should eliminate confusion that common names can cause. While those in the states would call it the Bala Shark, those from the UK might call it the Silver Shark. Try to stick to scientific names when possible.

We can't stress enough the need for hobbyists to research any and all fish before purchasing them! Don't make that impulse buy when shopping for your fish if you don't know it's care requirements. You are only doing a disservice to yourself and the animal. While our list of fish species isn't exhaustive, it is growing all the time.
