Bad danios...

So, I have recently added 6 zebra danios that refuse to school together in my 10 gallon. they just pair off and chase each other around. especially one who is slightly larger than the rest. If the other five start to show any signs of schooling behavior, he runs in and chases them to all the corners of the tank. is there anything I can do to fix this? I'm about ready to stick the bigger one in my betta's tank to teach it a lesson, hehe...

there may be a chance he would kill your bata... if he is big enough.

Re: Bad danios...

nah. he's like, half the size of my betta. but, my betta is a chicken, so he would probably run from the danio... anyways, it was a joke! Sheesh.

Re: Bad danios...

The Danios seem to be doing better now. I guess it was just the shock of going into a new tank. On a side note, one of my Otos is a little species confused and likes to school with the danios until he remembers that he has to eat... silly oto.

Re: Bad danios...

if the big one acts up again, you can try the 'attitude adjustment' of taking him out of the tank and rearranging the decor before putting him back in. Otos are silly, playful fish and it's not uncommon for a fish to just decide to school with another species.. don't know why, maybe his dream is to be a danio.. but as long as he eats and they don't mind him tagging along, it should give you some funny vids.
