My danios and my roommates
I went away for a couple of days and asked one of my roommates (who insisted he's kept fish as pets) to feed my danios while I was away. He did so, and like a good person, did not overfeed them.
My other roommate, because he can't leave anything alone, decided he wanted to feed them flies. Now, I read that they're omnivorous and tend to eat insects that hang around the top of their 'natural' rivers and such... but that doesn't likely include central Canadian houseflies and mosquitoes. So the question is, will letting my little dudes chomp down on the things flying around hurt them at all? Is there anything in them that would be toxic to the zebras?
For the record, they are the only fish in my tank.
Also, if the bugs are safe to be eaten... what other fun things can I feed them? They get pretty upset with me when I put my finger in the water because they all want to take bites of it (they circle around it and take turns coming in to bite).
Fun stuff, these fish rock.
