I think my Danio is dying
This is very strange out of the 5 danios i have 1 keep swimming to the top corner of my tank next to then waterfall and swwimming in place there, when i feed them or shut the light he moves, but evey other time hes therealso if another danio swims by **** follow it for a little bit then go back, i also think he has a white spot on one of his sides but its very hard to tell because he swims wiht that side facing the glass

And another note is that he has a different type of tail fin then the others, his is relativly basic while the others are longer

im not all that sure, as i said its hard to see, but yes i did go with them and the tetra safestart, well what i got is called stability but according to a few other forum members its just as effetive, i think the other danios may have been picking on him as he is the smallest and as i mentioned has different fins.

well keep an eye on him for a day or so to see if he gets more spots.. if its ich, raising the temps slowly to 83f for two weeks will take care of the ich...plenty of airration for some extra oxygen as well as a good gravel vac to get all the ich spores will take care of that..if hes being singled out, that could be a separate issue and maybe a breeding net until he recovers might help

I'm not sure why you think he is dieing. The slightly abnormal behavior is still withing reason. He seems to prefer to be alone. If he were swimming lopsided or in circles I could understand the concern. From what you say he is swimming normal, just not with the other Danio's and he is eating.
The only concern I can find is the possible white spot you can't really tell is there or not. White spots are not good. But even a day later you still are not sure if the spot is there or not and cannot describe it. Check all your fish and keep an eye on this one for sure. But dieing? At this point, based on what you can tell us, I don't think so.

I don't believe that Stability is as good as Safestart. I've heard a number of claims of companies finding ways to cause the aquatic nitrifying bacterias to go into spore form, but so far, none of them have turned out to be true. The terrestrial bacteria naturally go into spore form, and this is what most places that claim to have nitrifying spores actually use.
If you have not done so, it would be a good idea to keep an eye on your waste products (ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates) to insure that your tank is actually cycled. Odd behavior in a fish may be the first sign of a problem with the cycle, or it may simply be, as RandomKayos stated, an odd fish. Or it could be something else entirely (parasite, infection, etc...) This is why it's easiest to focus on the most easily-confirmed/denied issues.

I have used stability, I do agree that Safe Start is better... but they both work, I've always used the stability for one week (with fish in the tank) as directed, and I've never had any issues with water quality. I've never added it anymore after the seven days, and the tanks have all remained cycled =)
Cycle is another story, you have to constantly keep adding more and it does not work very well even with doing that, I still got ammonia and nitrite readings that never went away... most definitely terrestrial bacteria in Cycle

Yeah well i got a closer look just know, and i think my fear might have come true, when i got a better look at the white spot it looks like 2 cuts, im not sure if it was caused by the other fish, or possiable the decorations, but hes doing fine i believe i jumped to conclusions with the dying thing as random chaos said hes not floating weirdly of swimming in circles, hes completely normal but he just dosent school with the other fish

I have used stability and it totally flunked me ..but we all have different water qualities and types of water and that plays a part as well..I agree with keeping an eye on him for more changes..as well as keeping a close eye on the water parimeters...goodluck!

All is well, ive noticed that he started schooling again, and i have formed a hypothisis( i learned that word in biology 1!) I think that he most likly cut himself on one og my decorations, and was simply to tired to keep up with the other fish which is why he was hanging out by himself

I'm thinking water types too... I have a lot of live plants as well, which helps. But I tried Cycle and it failed miserably... same setup I tried Stability and it worked, again I dont know if the plants or my water (low pH of 6.8) would make a difference or not
