do they have to all be the same color?

I'm in the process of setting up a 29 gallon ad was going to add 8 or 10 of the zebra and glow danio fish but wanted to add 2 or so of each color. Will they all school together or do i have to stick to one color?

They should all school together. The color of any offspring, should you breed them, is something I am unsure on because it is an inserted gene rather than a natural gene (the glow danio.)

Fish tend to school according to shape so they should all school together. The colors should breed true. The DNA was added long ago, the ones we see on the market are many generations down from the original Danios that had Jellyfish DNA injected into their eggs.

I don't intend to breed them so that is not a concern. Will the long fins school with the others?

Thanks for the responses so far it means i can keep going with the tank i want.

Welcome as always
One of my favorite tanks had long finned Blue Danios, Leopard Danios, Zebra Danios.
It was really active. The ones in this pic are Danio Kerri better known as turquoise Danios. just wanted to share with you

there are more kinds!! I could have guessed that but had only ever seen the zebra and the glow kinds. I knew there were long fined and was going to have to do some digging to find them but now i will have to look around to see if i can find more colors.

There are many many kinds of Danios. My sig used to read"Never met a Danio I didn't like" Here's my favorite Danio site. Click on the tool bar on fish and explore different kinds of danios. or on articles.
