How do you get zebra danios to breed?

If you're sure you have a pair and the female is nice and plum-
a good way is to put them in a small tank with marbles on the bottom

they will swim back and forth and she will drop her eggs an he will fertilize them
when you see that she has slimmed down you'll know she has dropped her eggs

remove them and leave the tank as is
in a few days yo'll see the eggs in between the marbles

in a while (not sure how long)
you'll see the eggs darkening

and soon they';; start to hatch

I once found a TINY fry on the sisde of a 20 gallon tank, I mean it was barely visible. I sucked it with a finger over the end of a straw, it was too small to net. I put it in a planted 2 gallon tank, and it ate whatever micro-ctitters it found among the plants. After a couple months, I finally realized it was a zebra danio. Use a small, heavily planted tank with a sponge filter, and several fish. They scatter the eggs, which are very small. Remove the adults after they spawn.
