little zebra danio

As some of you know, my mother brought home three zebra danios yesterday by preference of a certain employee and petco. I managed to get my ammonia levels down to see today that the bigger two of the trio are happy and hungry (they are tough little fish). The only thing is that yesterday the little one would always hang out at the very top or the very bottom trying to follow the others when the swam by, he couldn't. now he is just laying at the bottom being swayed by a gentle current in the tank breathing really fast, is there anything I can do. I do have a hospital tank setup, if I can save him. I think it was the stress from the drive from petco but the others made it fine.

I've brought fish home that don't make it. I can usually tell like you did, sitting on the bottom being inactive and being pushed by the current. I'm not sure there's much of anything you can do... Nothing I ever did worked!

Also, with Danios, they're schooling fish so they like to be in groups of 6 or more. I'm not sure what else you have in your tank, but they can be fin nippers. Even then, I had 6 of them in my tank and they nipped my cory's tail off. (Needless to say, I took them back to the store...) Just watch for nipping! I liked them, though. They were so funny!

Sorry about the fish!

The little one died, I didn't want my mothers money back so I buried him under a dogwood tree outside. But I got some TLC for my tank which is supposed to help cycle the tank very quickly, I hope this works and that the danios stay away from the new pearls.
