Re: ~ Tank Sizes ~

Since they grow to about 2", you'd need at least a 15 - 20 gallon tank. I'd say 20 gallon, since you'd also want a couple of bottom feeders like 2-3 corys to help keep the bottom clean.

Re: ~ Tank Sizes ~

The regular ones grow to 1.5-2" and the giant ones grow to about 5". So if you want 7, the smallest tank would be a 15 gallon, but if you want some other bottom feeders, a 20 would your best bet.

Re: ~ Tank Sizes ~

Well at Walmart ( cheaper tanks ) they have a 29 gallon and a stand for it...... would that work for them and a pleco?? Miley

Re: ~ Tank Sizes ~

Again, it depends on the ultimate size the pleco will grow to. With a 29 gal, you'd have 15" to spare, so a smaller pleco (bristlenose, for example) would be fine. And you'd still have room for other fish, like corys, otos, cherry barbs, a dwarf gourami, etc.

Just do so research here and elsewhere on how big the fish you want will get, and take it from there.
