beginner questions

Some questions I have about the yo-yo... sorry if there silly. I do plan to pass this on to others in the future who may need help.

It says that the yoyo may eat small snails. How small we talking? Like babies and the ones the size of ur pinky finger nail? Or like generally small ones?

How long do they need to be quartintined for? How do you tell if they have 'itch' or not?

Thanks so much

I had a 30 gal hex that was infested with small snails. The LFS suggested yo-yos, so I bought two. They did nothing to help! I ended up putting a 4 inch clown loach in the tank. It took him a few days to settle down in his "new" tank but once he did calm down he had it snail free in about a week. Once the snails were gone, I put him back in my larger tank with two other of his "friends". I still have the two yo-yos (I'm not sorry I bought them), they definitely add personality to the tank but not to eat snails!

Pretty sure they're tanking about pond snails and MTS as opposed to apple and mystery snails.

Quarantine them like any other fish, so 3 weeks. The ICH will look the same, but treating with meds should be avoided because of their sensitivity to them. Good water quality goes a long way to preventing ich.
