is there something wrong with my yo yo?

i came home yesterday and as i always do, look in my tank to make sure everyone is ok, i found everyone but 1 yo yo, i looked under both filters and he was under one laying on his back/side and curled like he was dead, i took the hood, light and glass lids off to get him out and do a water change (i was told you have to do a water change after a fish dies), so i stuck the net in the tank to get him out and all of a sudden he freaks out and swims away.....what the heck was he doing? sleeping or was he almost dead?
i dont know if he's just a tired fish or whether he's sick, when there's food he'll go crazy and eat but when it's all gone he'll swim around for a bit then go chill out in a hidey hole somewhere and won't come back out. his colours are fine.
can someone please help me as to what's wrong with him, if there is a problem??

It is a loachy thingy... they "play dead" for some reason, but they are ok in reality... silly loaches...

i find that yo-yos and other loaches enjoy squeezing themselves into secluded locations where they can "get away from it all"

the more hiding places available in the tank the more you will see your fish. They know a cave or other hiding spot is super close so they will venture out more

oh ok, i know i definitely need more hiding places for them, i just havent got around to doing it yet. at the moment we have a shoe that has a bit of hiding space in it, but i dont think they like it. My Albino Bristlenose loves it though, we only got it on the weekend and the last 2 arvo's that i've come home he's been inside it.

That's his claimed territory now haha. The yo-yos will like having a couple dark areas for them. All my loaches stick together either under the drift wood which is set up like a bug cave or the kuhlis are in and out of the plants roots
