hello from bc canada!

Hey there! I am new to this forum but have been reading a fair amount on here for the last few days. I have had fish in the past.. and thoroughly enjoyed them! I recently got my new tank up and running and am excited to have a plenitude of life to watch once again!

I have just re-learned the cycling process..I didnt have a very good understanding of it I now know! I have had some fish deaths and needed to get to the bottum of it.. so I started researching, and boy did I get a LOT of conflicting info/advice from various "fish people".!

I have about 6 fish and 3 live plants in my cycling tank. I have only just realised that it is in fact still cycling.. I set up the tank about a little over a month ago..

I tested the tank before adding fish and thought everything was fine- I have now learned my tester kit was expired!!

My nitrite levels are high. I have started doing frequent water changed.

I guess thats all I'll write in the welcome forum!
Great to meetcha-

Welcome to FishLore!!
Keep up the water changes (daily) and use a water conditioner that detoxes ammonia/nitrites (not remove)

If you tested before adding fish or any source of ammonia, your water would test fine.
It's after adding fish (or another source of ammonia) that your levels start to rise.

Good luck and post some pics soon
