Hi Everyone

Just joined fish lore, getting more into tropical fish and found this site. Currently have a 5.5G bloodfin tetra tank and a 25G goldfish tank. Will be upgrading the 25G to a 30G in the near future and have been tossing the idea around of getting rid of goldfish in tanks (have a pond during the summer) and convert it to a tropical tank. Only had the 5.5G for a few months so still learning about the different FW types and what I might want myself.

Glad you have joined us. A pond would be fun for the goldfish in the summer. Would you be able to keep them in the pond year around?

This will be my 4th year with the pond and so far have shut it down for the winter due to the shallow depth. Previous owners of the house put it in but used concrete over chain link fence. I decided it was to much work to tear it all up and start over so placed pond liner over top to ensure no water loss. This year I will look into possible options to keep the pond going through the winter. I raised one side (when they put this in they didn't have a clue how to build a pond) to try and level it out which should give me some much needed depth. I may now be around 2ft at deepest. I'm also redoing the waterfall this year and turn it into a mini rapid style. Pics to follow once completed.
