Hi, my name is Mike and I am from Minnesota. I’ve been keeping fish off and on since I was probably 10 years old. My current setup is a 36 gallon bow front, with 4 platys, 2 guppies, 3 very old black skirt tetras (close to 5 years), and 3 otos.

I had another 20 gallon tank with just the tetras in it up until about 2 months ago, when I upgraded to the 36 so I moved them over, and they really seem to like the additional room. Eventually I would like to add another tank in the house, but haven't been able to talk my wife into it yet. I think a cichlid tank in the living room would be great!

I also have a 20 gallon tank setup for Milo, my red eared slider.

I found this site, when I decided to do my own research on fish an equipment rather than trust the people at the LFS.

Welcome to Fishlore! You just cant always trust those LFS right. Glad to see you already have MTS I’m looking to set up a cichlid tank myself so good luck. By the way love to see pictures around here.
