submersible lamp

Can someone please tell me if submersible lamp can be placed above the water line or will this damage it?

Hello Lynn and Welcome to Fish Lore. I'm sorry but I've never seen a submersible lamp so I'm afraid I can't be of much help.
However, I would like to suggest that you change your screen name to something that omits your personal email address. We have automatic spam catchers but some still manages to get through. We delete what we can. I'm afraid you may end up with a box full of spam mail if you don't.
Go go the top and click on "My Settings". In the drop down bar click on "Edit Options". Once you get to the "Edit Options" screen scroll down and look to the left and click on "Request New Username". Type in your new name and click on Request Newusername to send it. Once Mike (the administrator) sees the request he will make the change.
I'm sure you'll get some responses to your question before too long. It's almost 4am so not many people awake just yet.
Hope you enjoy the site!
Ken

If you are referring to a submersible heating unit, Yes keeping it above water will damage it.

Unless it's a submersible visi-therm unless you're talking about the lamps that actually do go under water for example in swimming pools then IDK?
