Hi all. I'm a newbie

I'm new to this site. I stumbled across it while researching pregnant guppies. I have a 135gallon tank. It is 72" x 18" x 24". I have had tropical fish for about 6mths. I had a much smaller tank to start with and have only just got my new tank about a month ago. At the moment I have 1 x Male betta, 3 x Female Betta, 8 x neon tetra, 1 x Dalmation Molly, 4 x Bristlenose Cat fish, 3 x Albino Catfish, 1 x Female Guppy (about to have fry any day), 1 x white cloud and about 25 x baby Guppy. I'm still very much learning about fish and what to do and what not to do.

Welcome to FishLore! This is a great website, I remember when I first joined they made me feel quite at home here! Now just warning you, this website causes MTS (Multiple Tank Syndrom) and all of the members are enablers! Lol, I hope you feel as welcome as I did. Good luck with your fish! And upload some pictures of your tank! Haha, have a great night. (Well have a good day on your side of the world lol).

You have a male betta and 3 female bettas in the same tank? Are you having any issues with them?

I've had no problems with the bettas even when they were in my smaller tank (it was only a 5 gallon tank). My LFS said that I could only keep 1 male but as many female bettas, (he said the male Betta would be a lucky fellow).

Yeah I'm definately hooked. I'm from NSW. I'll try and take some pics when I get home from work today and post them tonight.

Wow, you must have some pretty mellow fish! That's awesome though that it's working well. I've usually heard that you can't keep any bettas together and only introduce females to a male when they have eggs ready to be fertilized...

I'm not sure what it is called. It's just like tiny gravel. My LFS threw it in for nothing when we bought the whole package.

Your tank is very nice, but I couldn't help but notice your bettas tails in the 3rd and 5th pics.
There aren't enough hiding places and imo, your set up is trouble waiting to happen.
Possibly with your size tank you won't have issues as you would with a smaller tank.
Best of luck

Thanks Lucy. What is wrong with my girls tails? I've never kept fish before so I don't know what to look for. I am going to my LFS tomorrow to get some plants for my tank. The little red girl has claimed a spot in one of the ships halves. She sticks her head and body into the little crevice and you can only see her tail sticking out. Does this mean that there is something wrong with her? Any help would be much appreciated
