Hi, just joined this site....been lurking here for quite sometime. I'm out in the Chicago area (Western Suburbs). I pulled the trigger on a used 55g tank yesterday, with stand and accessories (got a great deal). My goal is to have a freshwater community tank. I love kuhli loaches, so I plan on having at least 6 of those, and 5-6 glass cats. Not sure what else to add. Any suggestions are appreciated...no bully fish, just mellow fun fish.

Anyhoo, it's great to be here....everyone seems very knowledgable and cool, so I'm looking forward to hanging out.

Yes, I plan on taking my time and doing the cycle before adding any fish in...no rush. My kids were disappointed when I told them it'll be at least a month before any fish arrive.

I plan on adding some moonlight leds, and I heard the glass cats have a cool glow to them under that type of light. They're pretty unique looking and seem to be peaceful. I hope the kuhlis don't terrorize them at night.

I hear good things about the Rummy-nose tetras, maybe they'll make it to the tank.
