hey guys, quick question. for a 40 gal tank how much flakes should i be putting in every 12hrs? currently im putting in a large pinch. should i be putting im more?

Just enough so the fish eat for around 5 mins if you put more u will be overfeeding.

how much flakes i should be putting in for cycling that is sorry. from what i read its one of the methods to bring around amonia and promote nitrate growth which should lead to nitrites.

tho that does give me a good heads up for a later question ty navyscuba

hmm so i dont have to factor in the enviromental impact the fish will have aswell on the tank? well that makes life a lot easier tyvm navyscuba.

you wouldnt happen to know a rough timeline for how long this cycling process would take do you?

hey there everyone,

ok so im still cycling along (i have a feeling this is going to take some time) 2 weeks have passed and im getting low lvls of nitrate. tho instead of just sitting on my hands and waiting i went out and filled the tank up with some rocks, wood (which has discoloured my water, but i kinda like the tea look) and most recently plants.

so i decided its time to put some pics up, the progress is slow but its progress never the less.
