It's Water Lettuce and it's really hardy. They send out runners and start up without any problems. I started with only three starters and within a month, it had grown to fill the top of the tank. I have to remove it every once and a while and trim their roots as well. If I let them go, they can reach the bottom of the tank. The real problem with them is when they fall in the path of the water flow for an extended period of time, the roots start to fall apart.
I also have duckweed up there to dim the lights.
