new member here

Hey everyone new member here.. i have a 30 gallon planted south american tank as well as a 10 gallon nano salt tank that i just started today.. i have been keeping fish for over a year now but just starting salt for the first time.. i have 8.4 lbs of live rock in it a protein skimmer and live sand in the tank... i also have a 5 gallon tank that i will be using for water top offs and water changes ... i have a hang on back filter that does a 12-15 gallon tank and a under water filter that does a 12 gallon tank.. in the 5 g tank i have just a underwater filter it is a fluval 1+ just as the 10 gallon tankfor lighting im going to be doing a DIY for the salt tank and will have CFB blubs in it that are used for marine tanks.. back to my 30 g tank.. i have a diy lighting on it.. it puts out 118 watts of light... for fish i have a albino red tiger and a red tiger oscer... i green terror, a male and female breading pair of black convicts.. as well as a baby keni that is in there(he was soppes to get eaten but hes a wuss and hid unitll he got bigger lol) i ahve 2 peices of drift wood in the tank.. a amazon swd plant... java moss... java fern... moss ball... i have 2 alge eaters.. i bleive there called a goldon loach...for filtration i have a penguin bio wheel as well as a hang on back filter for a 15 gallon tank.. the bio wheel is for a 30 g tank. i will be posting pics of each tank as soon as the salt tank clears up.... its just foggy from starting it up today

Hi and Welcome to Fishlore. I'd love to get a salty tank but I'm not going there yet..lol.
Your 30 gallon seems pretty overstocked. Do you plan on getting a bigger tank in the near future??

well im going to try and get rid of the oscers and put some else that one get as big in there place... but i have a theroy guys if you can find a place for a tank... just hang it from the celling hahaha

Welcome to Fishlore. If you dont have MTS you will after reading on here for a while. As I sit in my livingroom and type all I hear is the bubbling of tanks all around....quite relaxing really. Best of luck on your saltwater. Maybe one day I will get brave enough for one but not just yet.
